"I bought two of these fly rod combos for a fishing camp where most of the guests have not been exposed to flyfishing. I have fished all the best fly rods, and built two, but I have to say that these combos are an ubelievably good value. The reel is a little shakey but that's the least important component. The quality of the rods far exceeded my expectations and handle like much more expensive models. A great starter outfit!"

"" I have the 8ft 5wt Medalist combo. I bought it for stream smallmouth and carp. The 8ft rod has a full flex action that is easy to cast. The medalist reel balances this rod perfect. The quality for this price can not be beat. If you want a rod to throw in the back of your truck and go catch fish , this is it."

"this is an all around good combo for the price. i ordered the 3 weight combo for trout and panfish. i had if for about a year until the rod broke in three places when a 5 pound bass attacked a gill i was bringing in. I got the bass though. It really drew a crowd at the park when i was fighting it. The rod worked good and the reel is nice. Will buy again. mason"

"I bought the 8wt and it is great. The rod is easy to cast and it looks and feels great. The reel is a little small for an 8wt but its a medalist so i probably won't have any problems with it.

"I have been an advid fly fisherman for many years. I purchased this rod in 5 wt due to the price. The rod preforemed great for both nymphing and dry's. I used it 2 seasons now with not issues, we planed a trip for steelheads and I returned to Cabelas and purchased one in 7wt. This rod exceeded my expetations and we landed alot of fish. The drag on the reel is very easy to set and adjust for the fish you are catching. Tight lines to all!!"
