"The collar works very well for our lab huskey mix two year old. We really like that we can page the dog first, then give the dog a quick nick to get his attention, and if all else fails a good shock will return the dog to our side. Range is not bad as long as you hold the transmitter up in the air. The only SMALL issue we have had with the collar is that it does not always stay turned off when we put the two sensors together. The collar light will turn red showing that it was turned off but it will still blink green (does not happen all the time and does not warrant a return in our minds)."

"Though the collars aren't anywhere near as sturdy as other collars I've owned, they are very responsive. My dogs swim every day without fail, no problems there. I have the two-collar trainer, and it works very well. Dogs respond very well in the 40's."

"My dog is better behaved than the children, what can I say. This product really helped me get my 2 year old (tean ager) yellow lab to focus on me and be more consistent in obeing my commands. She was not a bad dog, she behaved very well most of the time, but she had her tean age moments. I was hesitant about using this type of training device on her, but I am happy that I chose to get this. We like to give har a-lot of freedom and this device makes me confortable in having her off-leash in most situations. My wife and I were very surprised how quickly this worked. I hope this helps."

"This E-collar is great. It seems to be very well made and has held up very well so far. It says it is for mild mannered dogs but I wouldn't think you would need anymore as the highest I have had to use is setting 40 out of 127 on my lab. The "page" feature is nice too. I'm very happy with it."

"As far as I am concerned, Dogtra makes the highest quality training collars. In particular, the 280 NCP is well made and it fits and feels good in the hand. The receiver on the collar is a nice size for a small to medium size dog. As well, the wide range of stimulation available on the 280 NCP, plus the pager, provides the greatest level of diversity in corrections that I believe is needed to appropriately, and fairly, train/correct a dog. Sometimes just the pager, or a very low level of stimulation, can be effective in training. Other times, your dog may need a higher level "reminder" that they need to listen to your command. The Dogtra 280 NCP Platinum Trainer offers all of this and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality remote training collar (I also have a 1900 NCP that is used for a larger, more "stubborn" dog)."

"We have two one year old very energetic labs and needed some help on training and breaking some jumping habits,,,,these collars are very easy to use and to taylor to each dogs temperament,,,, the adjustable intensity and vibration modes are very helpful,,,,,as one dog will respond to just vibration and the other needs a little more pinch on her collar. "Great item....Battery life is good. Seems to work well on my 6 month old Boxer. The pager mode is great....it lets him know that he has the collar on. Just make sure you have it tight enough, otherwise it is not as effective. Try to keep the collar at the same tightness each time. Only had to actually use the nick on him a couple of times over the first week. Great tool for training the dog. Better than a fence because he can jump over one!! About 20% the cost of a fence also!!"

"I have used the Dogtra 280 to help restrain a very enthusiastic and spirited 2 year old lab. She responded virtually immediately, surprisingly just to the "page" feature. She still leads on walks, I've not tried to correct her on this, but she no longer pulls and directs what takes place. I have the power set on about 70, only very rarely using the "nick" button since the page button seems to be a very effective reminder with my dog. I have used the full power button only once to stop her from chasing a flushed rabbit near an elementary school. She was in pursuit on a full out run. I called for her to stop and hit the button for a second or so. She yelped a bit, gave up the chase and returned immediately to my call to "Come". I have not had the opportunity to use the Dogtra at significant distances, but I am confident it will perform well."

"This training collar is the best thing going. After about three training sessions my 9 month old English Setter is right on. I like the pager mode the best to remind the dog stick to his training. I also know that the transmitter has decent range when the dog gets to far out. I have nothing but good to say about this training collars as of now. Remember to register the product for warranty issues. I hope this collar gives me years of service."
