Good intro DVD,June 18, 2009
By Dentoidfrom West Virginia
"Intended for the novice fly fisher person, this DVD is adequate in quality, but gave it extra stars for Cabela's price. Bottom line is you can't go wrong with it at that price."

boring,June 16, 2009
By chrisgwhfrom New York
"I could do a better dvd. The beginning was so boring that it would shy anyone away from wanting to fly fish. If cabela's would like I would like to do a DVD and it would blow this current one away"

By MITREfrom CHICAGO, IL
"This DVD has been a great help in getting started on Fly fishing. I thought the information was kept very simple, I have invested in other complicated DVD's where it was frustrating. This DVD talked about the different types of lines, rods and flies to use... I highly promote young or old this DVD I am alot more confident when hitting the water.GREAT JOB CABELAS! I am truly a customer for life."

Starter DVD,April 26, 2009
By ColoradoRichfrom Colorado
"Some good basic info contained in thes DVD for new fly fishers. Seemed to be a compilation of several DVD's into one, somewhat inconsistent from one part to another. Generally good beginner material. The first 2 DVD's I received would not load in our new DVD player, 3rd one was OK - player is relatively new and several other DVD's played fine."

poor editing and no sound on parts of the dvd,March 22, 2009
By randydtfrom grand rapids, mi
"With bit and pieces from several fly fishing programs, it seems to jump around. Not the best editing. The audio on several areas is hardly audibal. The piano music is loud enough, but the guy giving instruction is really quiet, even silent sometimes. good tips but reminds me of my attention deficit. I hope they let me return it."

Getting Sarted FlyFishing DVD,February 21, 2008
By Greg544from California
"A good value for the novis or limited experience flyfisher only if included as a bonus item in a rod/reel package. This seems to be an edited compilation of cuts from various other DVD's and while it presents an overview of topics it does not cover much detail and may be frustrating to a real beginner. Image quality is very good. A bit overboard on Cabella advertising. Not worth purchasing outright, in my opinion, money better spent on specific topic DVD's."

WHAT A WAY TO START,November 20, 2006
By EDORRfrom Meridian, ID
"I have been fishing since I was 10 years old, but being raised in the South, fly fishing was not on the menu. After moving to the Northwest, I knew I had to learn and change my tactics and techniques.
This DVD is a great introductory tool to help anyone learn to fly fish. Fly casting is definately something that takes practice because is a very physical thing. You can't learn that from reading a book, but watching it on DVD helps make it very clear."

Teaching Scouts to fly fish,November 20, 2006
By Scoutmaster40from Yorkville, IL
"I used this DVD to teach Boy Scouts the basic fundamentals of fly fishing. It's easy to follow along with an excellent description in each chapter from the different types of lines, reels and rods, to knot tying and landing your fish. By touching on all the basics it enables you to learn to fly fish before you even hit the water. I would recommend this to anyone who has an interest in fly fishing, or as a teaching tool to instruct anyone that has a desire to learn."
