Kwik Fish,October 1, 2009
By EarlM
"I use #15 size Kwik Fish with a sardine wrap for Coho and a #16 Size for King Salmon on the Kenai River in Alaska with better success than any other bait. Bright silver with tiger stripes lures get more hits than solid colors. I am disappointed with the recent rise in price and I am looking at similiar lures due to Luhr- Jensen's pricing increase."

Very cool,November 3, 2008
By BuzzbaitRipperfrom Oroville Lake - Fishin' up a storm!!!
"These are pretty neat little lures (the one I got is the smallest one). I thought I'd be able to cast this lure, but I was wrong. They're light. Very light. You can cast only about 15 feet, but that is becasue they're not casting lures are they. The wobble is extra wide like they say. I'm going to try it out on the Oroville Lake Cohos next year and see if they like the flavor....if not, what the heck, one day I might even go to the river and back-troll it like you're supposed to."

they work for lake trout,August 25, 2008
By fishinA3
"They work nicely on a slow troll with an electric motor. I try to conserve the battery when away for a weekend on a remote lake and no means to charge the battery so getting action with a slow troll is important. Kwikfish goes deep and has a nice action and I picked up lake trout with them this year. My use of them has not been extensive though so I have not found their weaknesses yet."

No-Flip wobbler,January 29, 2008
By ItSwimsIfishItfrom West Michigan
"I use these for fall salmon in the rivers, and the Kwikfish, unlike other similar lures, rarely flips over on the cast. It tends to run deeper and more true than the others as well. All other lures have been happily left where they got snagged until only Kwik-fish were left in the box."

10# Northern,November 6, 2007
By bigbass1from Kulm ND
"First time out with the Kwikfish was this fall. Water temp was in the mid 40's and caught a 10# Northern Pike in about 4' of water on a sunny afternoon. Lure has lots of action but is a little heavy."

This lure catches rainbow and brown trout,July 9, 2007
By Unreconstructedfrom Clemson, SC
"Started using this lure a few weeks ago while trolling for trout in a clear mountain lake at depths of 40 to 75 feet. Placed them 6 to 10 feet behind downrigger weights. These lures have outproduced spoons on each trip. Hooks have not lost a fish yet, either. Due to their action and slight rise in water, I would suggest placing any stacked lure at least 15 feet above them to prevent tangling."

Trolling with Luhr Jensen Kwikfish,May 29, 2007
By Trollfishermanfrom Cape Cod
"Since out trip to the Niagra River was postponed I thought I'd go ahead and try the Luhr Jensen Quickfish locally in some of our ponds and lakes here on Cape Cod. I had bought a few patterns and sizes in the first week of May. This year brought for us a very cold spring and late start to good trout fishing out in open water, prior to this it had been decent fishing close to shore but that was changing by now and yet the bugs weren't really out enough for good top water fly fishing either. So I tried the smallest of these lures that I bought in the Rainbow Trout pattern, the K3 size, very small. Bang right off the bat I caught a rather small but genuine Rainbow trolling this pattern ! Several fish later over a couple of days of fishing on and off I l ended that lures use leaving a fish with the hook from this lure still in it. The eye of the lure had opened up and this is the reason and only reason I've down rated the lure to a level 4. It was a very good workng lure till that point in time if heavilly used. To be fair , my trolling rod I was using was rated a bit heavier than this lure size, had the rod been more nimble I don't think the lure would have failed.
Since that week I've caught Smallmouth Bass trolling the larger version of the same pattern, the K7, now in later May and since the weather and water has warmed up a bit and Smallmouth are moving off their nests.
These turn out to be high action lures it seems. The rod tip really throbs with the larger sizes on and trolling at a pretty slow troll. This has to be attractive to game fish of most species. At a little faster troll you need a little weight to keep the lures submerged or you can add a lot of weight and take them nearer the bottom. I can't wait to try these out Salmon fishing in Maine next Month."

FOUR Salmon USE a Kwikfish with a Sardine Wrap,April 21, 2007
By drayegonfrom Redding, CA
"I would not only recommend this to a friend I use these every time I go to the River to Fish for Salmon. Split a Sardine or Anchovy lengthwise from head to tail down the back Wrap the half on your Kwikfish with some light thread to keep it on the lure. When you back troll any of the Rivers in the Pacific Northwest for Salmon this will fill your boat almost every time. If this Doesn't work to catch a Salmon. Forget it nothing will work that day. Or the boat is not in the water. What is Back troll you say? you are floating down the River and rowing against the current to let your lures work ahead of the boat. Or Downstream of the boat. Which ever way you wish to term it. Here is the big DEAL about it. If nothing else you get to see these rapids and rivers from right up close. It does not get any better than that. Don't believe just me One of the best Writers in the World wrote several books about it. Zane Grey wrote a couple of really great books about Fishing Look it up he takes about Fish but not just this kind. We had not invented it while he was still alive. But I knew the man and he would approve. Thanks to all who read this enjoy. My Wife has never forgotten her 36lb Salmon she Caught on a Kwikfish with a Sardine wrap. She swore up and down she was hooked in the rocks on the bottom of the river. That is until the whole river moved downstream and took most of her line with it. She will never forget That day and neither will I. Thanks Dray"
