Socks work just fine,September 10, 2009
By NHBigBuckHunterfrom Plymouth, NH
"Their socks, not much to 'em. Buy the longer socks because you can always knot the excess around the end or just stuff it down the tube."

Rod socks,March 30, 2009
By Mattskiii
"Be careful. These socks to not fully cover the rod. What I mean by this is that they are not long enough to cover both the rod blank and the handle. There is no place in the description of this item that tells you this. They extend down right above the reel seat. If you are looking for coverage and protection of the entire rod, look elsewhere."

Rod Socks,March 17, 2009
By RockyBabyfrom Brooklyn,N.Y.
"They do a good job of protecting my 2pc. rods. I like the sectional design, keeping each rod section from touching each other with a stitched partition running the length of the sock. If you're fussy about keeping your rods like "new," the sock will not disappoint."

lacing up your rod socks,February 17, 2009
By fishingrampsfrom Santa Barbara, CA
"These rod socks are great for protecting and organizing your fishing rods. They are especially useful when putting several rods in a hard rod case for travel. I would like to see an intermediate tying strap closer to the bottom of the sock to compliment the tie at the top. I generally fold over the top of the sock at the top of the rod and wrap the top tie around the rod sections. To keep from losing my extra tie, I am going to sew a shoe lace on to my socks about 6 inches from the bottom."

Rod Socks,October 20, 2008
By Kodiahfrom California
"I ordered a three pack of the single rod socks. The person filling the order grabed three of the stiched socks, may for two piece rods. I was in a hurry to ship the rods so I cut the stiching with a razor blade and the single piece rod fit. This is the only problem I have had with any Cabelas order."

45" Rod Socks,September 12, 2008
By f9f6cva10from Greenwood MS
"(Originally submitted 3 Sep 08 but not posted as of 12 Sep 08.)
This is to echo the review by "Appraisal from Greenville, Ohio."
I queried Cabela's specifically in regard to the review by "Appraisal" as to whether this product flaw had been corrected and received no reply. After a couple of weeks I decided to order the 45" Sock anyway and was advised the item was on back-order and that to place my order I must order 3 which I did.
I was somewhat encouraged by the fact the item was back-ordered thinking the flaw might be corrected. Wrong assumption!
2 Socks arrived in initial shipment, one package of which was obviously deliberately opened. Someone, customer or Cabela's staff, almost certainly had determined that the Sock was only a little over 39" as I also discovered.
The Sock is made of a nice, knit material and after a bit I thought to give it a stretch. With vigorous stretching, the Sock measured 43" but very soon rebounded to a little over 40". This is barely adequate for 2-piece, 6 1/2 ft rods but will not accommodate the also popular 2-piece 7 ft rod which a bona fide 45" Sock would manage.
Although this is a small, inexpensive item, one might wonder why Cabela's has not corrected this flaw about which they should certainly, by now, be aware.
These 40" socks will be returned with the hope that Cabela's will soon make the bona fide 45" Sock available.

excellent product,July 1, 2008
By indiananglerfrom Mumbai, India
"I have just bought few reel socks ans couple of double rod socks.I think I would order some more. I am completely satisfied with them I think every one should have them specially if you in a country like India and top of that in Mumbai where moisture is a big problem combined with salt in the air . The socks really help keep you tackle dry and in good shape would recommend them to every one."

Double Rod Socks,May 28, 2008
By Appraisalfrom Greenville, Ohio
"The rod sock was advertised as being 45" in length, which should have fit my two piece pole. However, it was not the length that was stated and the tips/ends of my pole stick out the ends of the rod sock. This does not provide the protection that I was looking for. If I had it to do over I would have ordered the longer rod socks. This is the first product from Cabela's that I have not been completely satisfied with."

Cabela's Rod Socks, single and double,April 11, 2008
By ILIKEMYLUNDfrom WASHINGTON,PA
"I was using velcro wraps around each end of my dis-assembled two piece poles to minimize tangles in my boat's rod locker. I bought the Cabelas socks to hopefully minimize pole and line tangles even more. If you've ever experienced the low light level frustrations of having one pole's line go over the end of another pole or snag on another pole's reel, handle or guide, then you'll appreciate how much these socks minimize that potential. The socks fit my poles well with the reels attached.... from my one piece 6.5' baitcasting pole to my two piece spinning, trolling and downrigger rods."
