"I built up a 9ft 5wt 4-pc blank for an intermediate caster. It turned out to be an excellent choice. Fast rods are too unforgiving for a beginner/intermediate caster. This blank was perfect for the job and made in America! The person I built the rod for could comfortably cast about 40 ft and I could shoot 70 ft pretty accurately before the rod folded. For a freshwater all-around rod, this is a good choice. Highly recommended."
