The Ultravid's full magnesium housing substantially reduces weight and adds
considerable ruggedness, while the center axis pin is 100% composed of ultra-durable titanium. The Ultravid also
boasts an all-metal, self-lubricating focusing system free of unnecessary lubricants.
With over 200 innovative changes made to the previous Ultravid, the Ultravid HD maintains Leica's reign
atop the high-performance optics industry. New fluoride lenses and prism coatings increase light transmission by
3% for brighter images in any light. A new AquaDura™ lens coating rolls rain off of external lenses and
facilitates cleaning. A solid magnesium housing keeps weight at a minimum while adding considerable ruggedness,
while the center axis pin is 100% ultradurable titanium.
