Nice Shape & Color, pockets are really high,March 14, 2010

"I ordered the Azalea - Large. I didn’t think I would like the lavender color, but it is a very soft lavender and I love it. I received many compliments.
It seems to be well made. It has a two-way zipper with big nylon teeth. I do fight with the zipper every now and then, but I fight with every two-way zipper! The pockets are under the angled designs by the chest area. It is awkward using the pockets because they are so high, but I do like the way the angled design looks. The pockets are huge and deep.
The hood is just the right size to fit over my head and does not flop down over my face. It is adjustable, but it is not detachable.
There is a netted liner inside the jacket and it is not very warm on it’s own. I have been using the Cabela’s PolarTec 200 Fleece (Black - Large) as a liner in 40-50 degree F temperatures and it has been working perfectly (colors look great together too). It will probably be ok on it’s own in 60+ temps.
I am 5’8” with a long torso and long arms. This is long enough to cover my lower back/butt and the sleeves are long enough to go to my wrists too. The wrist opening is adjustable and there is enough space to wear the PolarTec 200 liner without constricting my wrists.
I gave this 4 stars because I can’t get used to the high pockets. This jacket would be perfect (5 stars) if it had pockets at waist level too.
I got this on sale and I love it - another great deal!"

"When this jacket came, I was very pleased. It was lightweight and packs easily. The only thing was the pockets were way to high. On a rainy or windy day you have nowhere to put your hands for protection. Other than that it's great! I did return it for a different jacket with lower pockets."

"I absolutely love this jacket. Really thin and light, not bulky at all. This is so light it can go anywhere, basically an umbrella like material, not the thick plastic type that weighs a ton. I do with I would have ordered a size smaller because it does leave plenty of room for other layers underneath but that doesn't take away from how happy I am with my purchase at all. Pockets are at an odd height and angle to get in and out of but they're huge so plenty of room."

"Beautiful color and perfect fit. Nice and long too. Zippered pockets are in the perfect place and really deep. Jacket folds into right pocket making a small packet. If you cruise, this is the perfect packable jacket. If you don't need it, it takes up very little room if the weather turns ugly, you are so prepared. Hood is very roomy and fully adjustable. Love the peak. Looked everywhere for the perfect jacket and this is it."

"This is a very nice, light-weight, parka. And I emphasize "light-weight." I have only 2 issues with it:
1. The hood barely comes to the top of my forehead, even with the lip.
2. The pockets are large, but quite high on the parka, but that's not a problem for me; I'm just pointing it out as it might be an issue for someone tall.
A possible issue at some other time might be the following: I can't say whether or not it's suitable for rain, because I haven't worn it for that. I's a "typical" parka, so I'm not sure how it could keep rain from soaking through, because it's not lined with any sort of protective barrier. This parka might be more suitable for rain free days.
I'm only 5' tall, and 103-lbs, so I chose the small and it's a nice fit, especially for layering underneath."

"I bought this parka and the men's version for me and my husband to take to Iceland with us this past summer. Summers there are mild and the weather can be very unpredictable, so we wanted some light-duty rain gear that wouldn't take up too much space in our luggage. These jackets were great: provided a little extra warmth without being too hot, kept out the wind and the drizzle, and adjusted at the waistline and hood. The only drawback in my opinion was the awkward placement of the side pockets--a little too high up to comfortably put one's hands in. Otherwise a great jacket for the price. I've been wearing it out in the garden on chilly days this fall."

"Great lightweight casual jacket for cool weather and light rain at a reasonable price. Can be folded up into one of its pockets which is a bonus for traveling. Not rubberized so it feels comfortable with the mesh lining. Did not wear in a heavy rain only a light sprinkle. Pockets are located a little higher up on the torso than usual so I really didn't use them. I was looking for a lightweight rain jacket to use for travel and this was ideal."

"The raincoat was beautiful and fit well. Nice and vented. Only problem was the pockets - they were placed in an odd position where you really couldn't put your hands in them. Maybe just use them to put an item in. I wanted pockets lower to be able to put my hands in and keep my hands dry also if I wanted. If pockets are not important to you, this is a great buy."

"This is a nice waterproof jacket, it does it's job well. It folds and rolls up small, so I can put it in my day pack and hardly even notice it. It runs a little baggie, but I like it that way, so I can have a heavier sweater on underneath, so I can be warm and dry. The price is reasonable too."
