Nimble, stable and Capable,September 23, 2009
By Mathmattxfrom Yakima River, Washington
"The Fish Cat 10 IR Pontoon boat is nimble, capable and stable on the water. I have this used boat to float Pacific Northwest Rivers and am impressed with how easy it is to control and maneuver exactly where you want to go (or to avoid). The frame is sturdy and well made. The included mounted bags are very roomy, equally well made and will keep cargo dry. I was initially skeptical about the cargo platform being mesh, but it is strong, light and keeps items stowed there dry. The casting platform stows under the seat and rides high enough (even in rough water) that it does not alter the control of the boat. The massive pontoons have surprisingly little draft and keep the boat fast and stable, whether you are sitting or standing. The oars power this boat very well, both in white and still water and provide easy control from the included oarlocks. The oversize seat is as another reviewer stated..a dream...and it's easy to get too comfy! The only negative to this boat are the assembly instructions...they are basically worthless. I have drifted across many shallow rock and gravel bars and the pontoons are very durable and resistant to the abuse. This boat at this sale price shouldn't be passed up! This is easily as nice and well crafted as boats costing 1k or more. I am very pleased with Outcast and have been impressed with the quality and durability of this boat. Buy one, you won't regret it!"

Slightly better than a kayak,March 14, 2009
By LoonyToonfrom Reno NV
"I usually fish from a kayak modified to run on electricity. It becomes uncomfortable after a few hours, so I went shopping for a better kayak or fish cat sytle inflatable. I bought my fish cat on sale, added a minkota motor and battery box. I have good and bad opinions as follows: PROS: Comfortable even after hours on the water. Included gear bags have room for anything you need. Stable even when standing. (The kayak can't compete here) Tracks well with electric power.
CONS: Misrepresented weight capacity. Myself with a battery and gear are just under 300 lb. The standing platform plowed through the water and slowed the boat. Misrepresented Display, the boat I bought did not have a metal gear platform as displayed. Only when I suspected it was missing did I find a spot in the instructions saying "optional". Given the weight issue above, the mesh platform is probably better anyway. The instructions are downright horrible. Initial assembly took over 3 hours. Set-up at the water is about 30 minutes. The "rod-holder" is probably meant as a joke, you will want to add your own. Even broken down this would be difficult to transport in a small car, a truck is still needed for me.
Overall I will probably use this boat more than I would a kayak. Even with the motor, the price was still less than a good fishing kayak. Wear booties, because your feet will get wet."

Fish Cat 10 IR,March 1, 2009
By mayfly71from Augusta, West Virginia
"I bought the fish cat last year and I love it. My husband has a large bass boat and goes into areas that I don't want to go, so I use the fish cat to get to the areas I want. I row to the area, it is so easy to row and it glides over the water. It is good exercise for you and if I want to go back to the shore before my husband, I can. I am 58 years old, I have no problem with the craft, it is very sturdy. I have a sense of freedom when I am floating on the water in the craft. I just love it. You can stretch your legs, you are not crampted, the side pockets keep all the tackle I need. Even my book when the fish aren' biting! This year I want to invest in an electic motor, if I think I want to go further distances."

not what it seems,July 15, 2008
By mick807from conyers ga
"The first thing I noticed when I unpacked the boat was the seams on the bladders were not welded as advertised but are stitched. I decided to overlook that since finding a boat with all the options this one has at the price (I bought on sale) was hard to do. I also weigh 295 lbs so the 450 lb weight rating was very important. I think the weight rating is also exageratted. Wtih me, 1 rod, 1 small net, three fly boxes and 4 bottles of water the standing platform was submerged at all times. The leaning bar was also draging the water when stowed, soaking the line holder and me when I moved the bar forward to stand up. Thank goodnes Cabellas stands behind their products. I have returned it and my new Skykomish Sunrise will arrive soon."

Fish Cat 10 Pontoon Float,July 7, 2008
By Troutfishwithpassionfrom Georgia & North Carolina River Trout Fisherman
"Had I paid the full published catalogue dollar amount rather than the discounted sale price I would have returned the float boat. My closest fishing friend purchased the "Colorado XT" for a few hundred less & I wish I had done the same. The "some assembly required" directions bordered on being worthless. If an anchor system was to be included, it failed to make the trip. However, on the positive side, I managed an enjoyable "shake down cruise" on a small lake & realized that my fish cat does have useful value."

"This pontoon surpassed my expectations. I got this as a father's day gift. I looked into many different types but my wife surprised me with the fishcat. The casting deck is very stable and I was totally comfortable/secure on my latest trip with my boys. It was easy to maneuver, even my 10 year old had an easy time. This boat is a dream!!!"

Fish Cat 10 IR Stand up,June 20, 2008
By fishing4money
"This Boat is GREAT!! I'm From WV and the first day I got it out of the Box I did a 5 mile float trip on the New River. I cought 16 bass , It was great. The seat will make you fall asleep and the stand up deck is very safe and i''m 225 pounds. The best part about this boat is people ask "where did you get that boat" Because it looks so good on the water and if your in the drivers seat you can fish where no one can get to from the bank, Its also really cool to see that big bass come to the top right at your seat. I have ran over stumps and not even a mark on the tubs. Over all this Boat is really safe and fun and thats why I give it a 5 Star rating. Terry"
