Great tent for value,September 8, 2009
By sycamorerobfrom California
"the tent was worth the money i spent on it, I did feel that the flooring could have been thicker, so I just added a tarp underit just in case. The tent venter out well during the heat of the day, although it did not stay very warm at night for the same reason. Plan on keeping warm bag and clithes if using this tent in the cold weather."

Met and exceeded expectations!,August 11, 2009
By NYCamping1from Rochester, NY
"I purchased this tent for a 3 night camping trip at a state park in NY. There were 3 of us in this tent with gear and we had plenty of room. There are plenty of spots for ventilation. Keep in mind that the roof is complete mesh and the rain fly is required to cover the top of the tent. This was a perfect design that allowed plenty of air flow with unzipping a couple windows and the air ports on the sides. We were kept cool at night and no condensation formed inside the tent. It rained each night we were on our trip and yet we remained dry without even sealing the seams. The seams come taped from the factory.
The pools do seem to make a cracking sound as we put them in place but seemed to be fine. It is tough to put up alone and is more helpful to do with two, but can be done with one person. With two people we had the tent all together in under 10 minutes. Great tent for the money and kept us dry. I would have paid more for this tent. Great value, and great tent!"

My first tent,July 27, 2009
By tankgirlsfriendfrom Montana
"This was the first tent that I have bought. I recently took it with me and my two children when I went camping in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. For the most part, it was a great tent. We had a mix of rain and sun during the time we were there. I did end up with a small puddle by the door after one rain storm...but it was small enough that two paper towels handled the wetness without a problem. The kids loved the built in pockets in the tent. They stashed all sorts of toys and stuffed animals into them when not in use!
When I purchased the tent, the sales lady at Cabela's informed me that I would be able to set it up by my self. However, I found I needed help getting up the main poles. After that, one person can easily set up the tent. And one person can take down the tent with out a problem.
Overall, I really like my tent and look forward to using it again soon! I would certainly recommend it to others. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I needed help getting the main poles up. If I could have done it alone...I would have given this a 5 star rating."

Bugaboo II Tent Review,July 18, 2009
By PeakSeeker
"I purchased this tent in July '08 and have used it at many of our national parks. I found erecting this tent the first time by yourself can be challenging. Now it goes from the bag to erected in about 8-10 minutes by myself. At Glacier NP in Montana it kept me dry for 2 days of rain and snow, then 36 degrees in Yellowstone with a layer of frost on my rainfly. The material seems very durable for its weight. I found double wrapping the fiberglass rods at their 5 junction points kept this tent up in 68 mph winds at Dinosaur Nat'l Monument in Colorado."

"We planned a weekend float and camping trip over the weekend. It rained most of the weekend, but we were dry. The one day it was dry and HOT....we had plenty of breeze with all the vent areas to keep us cool while we were a sleep."

wind did it again,June 21, 2009
By harmonator
"I purchased the original bugaboo a number of years ago and enjoyed everything about the tent except the full exposure in the back if the fly is not on. Sadly that enjoyment was lost when I spent a week at Lake Powell. The third night winds came up and one of the poles splintered and tore the fly. I patched the tear with tent repare tape and used duct tape on the pole. I called Cabela's when I got back to purchase replacement poles, only to find out they could not replace the poles because it is not a Cabela's product. Last year I decided to purchas another Bugaboo, thinking my origanal had been used with enough satisfaction to justify a repeat purchas. As I said I had been very pleased with the tent, but the original Bugaboo was no longer avalible. I purchased the Bugaboo II and used it three times last year. Sadly last week at Lake Powell one pole splinter and another snap at the joint (duct tape can only do so much) when winds came up on my second night there. The week of camping was not much fun with no place to sleep but in the sand. If you are going to be in windy conditions this tent will not hold up."

Great!,February 19, 2009
By surfcamp2008
"This tent was great! Much bigger then I thought it would be. It easily fit our queen air mattress and a couple chairs. We hit some pretty big storms the first night using it so there was some time spent inside playing dice and listening to the rain but we were very comfortable kicking back inside and NEVER got wet. I really like the small access doors. Made it easy to reach in for the next can but it was also great my dog. Didn’t take her long to figure out there was a little door there. Many times we found her just kicking back in there while the rest of us were out playing. Great tent for the price!"

Bugaboo hoo hoo hoo,August 13, 2008
By Gronk82from Bloomsburg, Pa
"I bought this tent to go to Sturgis SD for the MC Ralley. The tent was flattened the first day by a wind gust while I was out riding. Three poles snapped. Two were fixable, the third I needed help from a fellow camper who had an extra pole that I could duct tape together with what was left of mine. A few nights later it was flattened again in a rain storm while I was out riding. Got it up again, nothing wet, thank God! I am writing this review prior to my returning the tent hopefully for a full refund. I think this tent would be fine for some overnight or weekend camping without any extreme weather."

User Friendly Tent,August 11, 2008
By AlisoninSavannahfrom Savannah, GA
"I'm writing this review as a camping novice. I bought this tent hoping it would spacious, easy to assemble and of good quality. It totally lived up to my expectations and I can't wait to camp again. Setup can be done by two people in under 10 minutes. I haven't set up a tent since I was a Brownie in the Girl Scouts and this was no sweat for me. Very simple to understand and not difficult at all. We set up a full-size bed height inflatable mattress in it and still had a nice amount of room to move around, store our gear etc. The tent is a nice height so we didn't feel claustrophobic at all. We had one rain shower and the tent stayed very dry. I'm extremely happy with this tent!"

Columbia Bugaboo tent,July 27, 2008
By chuck08
"To make a long story very short, my boyfriend and I were setting the tent up in a very mild breeze... no more than 10-15 mph. Apparently, the 'wind-resistant' fiberglass rods are not as good as they are advertised to be, because they snapped and shattered like twigs in several places and even tore the pole guides. The tent collapsed and was useless. A fun camping trip turned into a very unhappy event, and we were forced to sleep in the car. To my dismay, Columbia (the manufacturer) would NOT replace the tent. I worked with them for over a month, and they FINALLY agreed to replace ONLY the worthless fiberglass poles. Disappointment is a HUGE understatement. I have no intention of ever using this tent, and I will certainly purchase another from a different manufacturer. If you are considering buying this tent, do NOT attempt using it even if there is a slight breath of wind. The fiberglass 'stretchy' poles are worthless. Go to a model with metal 'stretchy' rods. Happy camping."

great tent,July 13, 2008
By kooskifrom Oregon
"Haven't gone beyond the backyard yet, but so far, it's been great. Especially love the two small zippered reach-ins on either side of the main entry - will be wonderful for placing bags inside, then having access directly without having to actually enter the tent! Still waiting to see how it does in the rain - the bottom is NOT waterproof - MUST use a tarp under it!"

Held up great,July 9, 2008
By xXGONZOXxfrom Paint Lick, KY
"I'm not a tent expert. Usually a tarp off the back of my truck was enough, but now with a family I need a little more. I've used this tent once for a 3 night trip. Easy set up. Plenty of room for family of 4. It rained every day for a total of about 3 inches with significant winds. No water in the tent even after my wife only closed the windows and not the rain fly. I put the tent on a slightly larger tarp and fold the tarp edges up under the rain skirt on the tent to protect the floor. Even with some water between the tarp and tent nothing came through the floor. I gave it 4 stars, because I'm sure you can buy a better tent, but you'll spend a lot more money. This one help up way better than the last Coleman I had."

Great Tent for a Little Price,February 27, 2008
By EPcamperfrom Florida
"This tent has everything you need for a great long-weekend camping trip. Lots of space, quick setup and little cubbies everywhere. It's rainproof, too, top to bottom when the rain cover is on. The only thing I don't like is the back window does not have a zip up cover. So, unless you have the raincover on, everyone can see in from the outside. This makes it essential to have the raincover on almost all the time. That's liveable, though. The floor is a little thin too. So a cover over rough ground would take away any chance of the floor ripping. I would recommend this tent to those who enjoy camping about once or twice a month; not to the serious camper. For my family, it was a great purchase."
