"The Zara Puppy works just as well on Australian Bass (no relation to American Bass). Easy to cast and easy to walk. Tail down attitude is good for hook-ups. Have been using Heddon lures (baits) for almost 50 years and would recommend them to anyone."

"I was fishing at an Adirondack lake and the fish were finicky as heck. I caught one bass and a small Northern pike all day and I was about to head back to the cabin when I decided to change my lure again! I put on a Zara Spook baby bass and cast it out and the next thing I knew it was BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! five hits in a row and one that I missed. When the bass want a top water lure the Zara Spook is without a dought the way to go."

"Man, felt like it on vacation! Have been using the white spook for local pond and it has brought up the little 6inch bass all the way to a really nice 4 1/2 pounder. Figured vacation in Williamsburg would offer me some nice bass fishing in golf ponds. Started early morning first day with white and really had to egg the fish on but caught and released about 15 fish between 1 and 3 pounds in about an hour before tee offs at 7AM. Changed to a frog design next morn.....in an hours time caught and released at least 40 fish and set into a really healthy one that never made the shore as when this estimated 6 pounder jumped, lure flew. Have to admit, AMAZING LURE!!! 10 yr old son is having a ball now at local pond catching a fish no matter what the moon or charts say and let me tell ya, a 10 yr olds smile at tiopwater blasts....PRICELESS!!"

"This is my go-to lure for summertime bass fishing. Even a beginer can lern to "walk the dog with this lure". For non-stop explosive strikes, fish late in the afternoon and, if from shore, make a long cast parallel to the shoreline and about five feet out. Point your rod out and twitch it to "walk the dog". This never fails. In the summertime bass stak up near the shoreline, especially late in the day.
*Tip* Colors "003", "351" are good for late afternoon, and "116" is good for midday and clear water."

"I do alot of Bass fishing, The lakes for Largemouth, and my favorite River for explosive Smallmouth Bass...The Zara Puppy has the performance of the Zara Spook, at only Half the size, Smallmouth tend to be very spooky at times, this is where the "Puppy" comes in. It has a quieter approach and can get under the low-hanging tree limbs or in-between groups of large boulders where the Bass hunt for crawdads, minnows, ETC. I will try it out on "Finicky" Largemouth soon...All-around good lure. I plan on trolling it real slow along the surface for big Brown Trout and monster Macinaws (lake trout) when the high lakes thaw (June). I will always have a zara spook and a Puppy in my tackle box!!"

"This is one of my favorite bass lures period! It sometimes takes a bass a few attempts to make contact with the lure when worked fast but the point is they dont stop tryin til they get a mouth full of hooks. It casts far and accurate and is easy to learn to walk-the-dog with. I once caught a slab-size crappie with this lure, if you dont have one, it should be he next lure you buy."
