Defective rods broke easily,September 23, 2009
By psychodogfrom Chesapeake Bay
"The first Fish Eagle II CX2 Model703 rod broke while reeling in a 1# speckled trout. It snapped about 2" below the tip. Cabelas sent a replacement. The replacement rod broke in the exact same place with even less pressure applied. This section of the rod is extremely thin. Both rods broke on their first day of use. Whether this is a design flaw or a manufacturing problem- who knows. After 2 rods I give up. too bad, because I like the other features of the rod just fine. These are the first rods I have had break on me in service in 30 years."

Cabela's Fish Eagle® II Spinning Rods - '08,September 10, 2009
By TPERSON777from Cincinnati Ohio
"I used these rods for Northern Pike near Dryden Canada. They were sensitive enough to feel the hit, and worked very well. The one problem is the top part of the rod coming off with a cast if you don't secure it regularly.
Overall, a very good rod."

Great rods!!!!,September 8, 2009
By mike7002from Long Island, New York
"The first time I bought a Cabela"s rod. Used them this past Labor day weekend in upstate New York. Caught numerous trout and large mouth bass. I bought the 8-12 lb class rods and they handled 4 to 5 lb trout with no problems. Cant wait to get a 10 to 12 lber on the rod. They seem to be made well also with fuji guides and premium cork grips."

The rod for trolling for walleyes,July 16, 2009
By HuntinandFishinSDfrom Rapid City, SD
"I have recently purchased the 6' Med. spinning rod for a shorter trolling rod on the boat or pontoon. It works superbly. It is sensitive enough to detect soft biting walleyes, but has the power to battle northern and carp. It fits comfortably in the hand for those day long trips and casting with it is very smooth, as the Fugi guides offer little resistance. I will be getting other versions of this splendid rod, most notably the 5'6" ultra-light for trout and panfish fishing here."

Fish Eagle® II Spinning Rods,July 15, 2009
By Robangfrom Alabama
"I use a 7' light model for fishing finesse worms for bass and a 7' medium for fishing larger worms. These are fine spinning rods at a modest price. My buddies use rods that cost 4 times as much, but I sure don't know why."

fish eagle 11 a great value,July 14, 2009
By walleyeseekerfrom pueblo, colorado
"i just got home from fishing a tourny for walleyes where i used my new 9ft med rod, with 20lb braid and a 4 foot leader with a bare hook and 1/2 crawler. the rod was very sensitive, you could feel it pick up a single stringer of grass. it was almost like you could feel the fish there before they bit your worm. this is a great rod. i now have 3 fish eagle 11 rods, 2- 7 1/2 foot and the new 9 foot and i like them very much, and recommend them to anyone who likes quality at a modest price."

Poorly made,July 8, 2009
By amherstanglerfrom amherst, ma
"The rod has been great for me i have the 7' med spinning rod and it has landed numerous large trout as well as two 5 pound class smallmouth and largemouth as well as one 6.5 lb lm. However to start the ferrules are poorly made and i cast the top part of my rod out at least once a trip. Next while muscling a 4lb bass out of weeds the cork reel seat broke. NOT something that should happen ever. Why would anyone make a cork reelseat, even if it is reinforced. Waiting to return and hoping theres a good policy"

Small Rod - Big Fish,July 1, 2009
By NEORLfrom NE Ohio
"I purchased this 6 foot UL rod knowing that I was purposely "undergunning" for larger river sm bass. I have been very happy with its ability to handle the small fish with dispatch and still making it "sporty" and the larger boys with backbone to set the hook and handle their battle, though it gets "iffy" about who is going to win sometimes. So far, I'm ahead. It will come apart after numerous, hard casts, so 4 stars."

Fish Eagle II, 6'6 one piece spinning rod,June 27, 2009
By Macor
"I used this rod jig fishing for trophy walleye, using a lead head jig tipped with a minnow it was possible to actually feel the minnow swimming when lowered just below the water surface. We did catch some amazing walleye and this rod had the power and backbone to meet the challenge. Excellent product."
