"Only luck I've had with this lure is a little smallmouth that I lost because the hooks were bigger than it's mouth. Only heard of one fish getting caught on it. I'll keep using it, but no luck so far."

"hello, i have used a hulapopper lure in the past.the two i recently purchased are of a size that is effective on bass and breem and provides excellent top water action. i caught two bass on one of these lures on a recent fishing trip. actually the size and weight i use are difficult to find in most sporting stores and i am glad they can still be purchased at cabelas"

"My friend and I often fish a 2-3 acre pond from a small rowboat and there are tons of weeds growing up from the bottom. Quite often we catch bass with either spinner/buzzbaits and small plugs, but we had a lot more fun with hula poppers. Unfortunately there are not many big bass in that pond. Most are around a foot long, but they do not hesitate to strike. During the day, we caught about 5 fish a piece per hour and still caught them no problems at night. I can't see the lure at all at night, but be careful where you cast and hearing a strike and continuing to catch fish is no problem."

"A classic... I've catch my first 3-pound plus fish with the black/white color combination more than 15 years ago with light rain and still keep one in my box all the time. It creates far more water commotion and bubble trail than any of the new fancy 3D eyed poppers out there. The only thing I would do to it to make it near perfect is replace the rubber skirt for silicone strands to increase the durability."

"My Dad was telling me a fishing story the other night and he mentioned a hula popper, which I had never heard of. He stated to me that he has not been able to find them in years. He is not very computer literate so I hopped on the computer and low and behold found those lures my Dad had described and I ordered one of all of them. I couldnt wait til Fathers Day so I just gave them to him and he was amazed that I found them and that they were still being produced. It is a fabulous present for no reason from Daddy's girl."
