Great Boots,October 22, 2009
By DOCJTSfrom Lander, WY
"I have worn these day in and day out for over a year and a half. In that time I have had to replace the shoelaces twice and the center hook on both sides of the right boot have pulled loose from the leather. For the price and comfort they are GREAT!!!"

Truly good to go, right out of the box,September 10, 2009
By YardbirdRocksfrom California, Colorado
"I got these for lightweight, short to medium length day hikes and to fill the gap between my low top trail shoes and my heavy mountaineering boots. After reading the reviews on Cabela's site and seeing the price, I figured they had to be worth a shot, and I was not disappointed. I recently had the chance to break these in, right out of the box, just last week in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. This was an eight mile day hike, starting at 10,000 feet and climbing above timberline to 12,080 of very mixed intensity (leisurely climb up, across streams and marshy alpine meadows, and a knee busting downhill bushwhack off-trail on very steep terrain, and through a thunderstorm). I couldn't believe how well these boots performed. My feet never slipped forward to bust my toes, never hurt, and the boots never leaked, living up to their waterproof label. They breathe very well, but my feet stayed warm (not hot) and dry. The slightly forward heel grips the earth on downhill sections, and the tread pattern is excellent, providing a very secure feeling and sure footing without clogging up. And their very light weight makes you feel like you're in running shoes (although I must admit, I'm used to wearing heavy boots daily...). The heavily padded ankles seemed a little thick and stiff to me at first, but when I miss-stepped off a boulder and nearly twisted my ankle, I could feel that stiff padding stop my ankle from rolling any further--great support! The neoprene padding under the tread is light, springy, and cushions well without giving too much. Overall I'd have to say that for the price, these boots are an unbeatable deal, and the addition of waterproofing makes them even better. All that, and they're still good looking enough to wear around town on a rainy day. I did not experience the problem with my shoelaces that so many other reviewers mentioned, but I can see how the eyelets on the boots might cause that problem. I'll have to see how the laces hold up after several more miles, but to prevent the problem I may just file the insides of eyelets smooth. Strong work Cabela's, I love my boots!"

Backcountry Hikers,August 5, 2009
By Anonymousfrom North FL
"I have owned these hiking boots for the past two years and used them in a variety of situations from hiking, to everyday use and I love them. They were comfortable right out of the box, and have remained very comfortable and provide a lot of support. They have worn well and when these finally wear out, I will buy another pair."

Comfortable and tough,June 23, 2009
By Bobwnyfrom Long Island, NY
"I have been wearing these boots in very wet weather and my feet have remained comfortable and dry. They seem to be very durable and they are light to wear. Another great shoe by Cabela's that wears well and is light and provides comfort for anyone on their feet for any period of time. I also bought them for hunting in Florida wear I do not need an insulated boot and where the conditions can get rather damp. I would recommend these shoes to anyone."

Waste of money. I would appreciate a refund!,June 16, 2009
By PoorCustomerExperiencefrom Charlottesville, VA
"These boots are supposed to be water proof. They are barely water repellent. I wore my new boots in a moderate rain storm and they were soaked inside and out. I did not even walk or stand in a puddle…just the rain falling from the sky penetrated the boots and left my feet soaked. They also took days to dry. A complete misrepresentation and waste of money. I would appreciate a refund. Flip flops would be a greater value than these “boots”."

Cabela's Backcountry Hikers Review,May 12, 2009
By Carl999from West Coast
"They fit like a glove right out of the box. No break-in needed. I would not recomend wearing then while driving a stick shift vehicle. I kept snagging the brake peddle when I depressed the clutch. When I depress the clutch I don't play around. I churped the tires several times that first and only time I drove my stick shift car with these boots on. The syncro rings probably have significant wear on them from that one stint with the boots on. The boots seem to be doing OK, no complaints so far."

Comfortable but order extra laces,April 28, 2009
By Scrintch
"I've owned two pairs of these boots and they are great for knocking around. Good foot bed, good grip and comfortable down to the high 20s. But both pairs have been death and destruction on laces. The top eyelets above the instep on both boots absolutely shredded any type of laces I used after a month or so. Otherwise a good product but it needs a little more attention to its design."

Made for walkin',April 20, 2009
By Hawgeyefrom Southern Iowa's Big Deer Mecca
"These are great hiking boots for the money. Only one major problem. The lower eyelets make it difficult to tighten them up and are very hard on the boot laces. Third time I wore them, I cut both laces. Other than that, they are lightweight, dry, and tough. Be sure to carry extra, small diameter laces."

wide size was very poor quality,March 18, 2009
By hiker66from new mexico
"The wide size (EE) appears to be made using the standard (D) width vibram sole. Therefore, the uppers overlap the sole; this leaves an edge on both sides of the boot. I sent these back for a refund and got a pair of New Balance which are made the correct way...that is, the sole is the same size as the uppers."

Great comfortable boot,March 13, 2009
By Karioutkafefrom Northern Virginia
"I was looking for a soft comfortable boot to wear to the range and outdoors in general. I've been wearing them almost everyday since I got them two weeks ago. They were comfortable right out of the box and they get better every day. They are warm and easy to walk in with a soft step. The size was correct for my feet, 14 wide, and the gusseted tongue makes it easy to get the boots on and off. I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for an easy duty boot that will keep you warm and dry."
