"all the bags I got with the system lost thier vacume within hours. if they were to fix the junk bags this would be a great system, the pumps work great. but unfortunately without good bags all you have is a paper weight"

"I purchased this primarily for marinating purposes. I have purchased hundreds and hundreds of products from cabelas. I have not left a single review (because I have been happy) until now. This thing is complete garbage. The twist locks (where the suction occurs) on the bag break easily. These are obviously not made for marinating because the vacuum (hand pump or electric) will suck all the marinade out, making a mess everywhere. Even when freezing a steak, the liquid gets everywhere when trying to vacuum it. The electric pump itself does not have much vacuuming power nor does the hand pump. It would be nice if there was a way the pumps locked onto the vaccuum portion of the bag, but you have to awkwardly hold it on there. Plus, how the vacuum connection is located on the bag, the opposite side of the back simply sucks against it and the pump is rendered ineffective.
I bought these as they were on clearance in a cabelas store and I know why they were on clearance. Don't waste your money because all you will end up with is some fancy zip locks..."

"I saw this on an outdoor channel. It is now the handiest item in my kitchen! No longer have to take out the big vacuum sealer when I just need to reseal cheese or leftovers or whatever! Remarkable little pump is very fast. Just plug it in the wall above the counter for the first 5 hours and it has been going strong on just the one charge! Haven't tried the hand pump yet. Excellent product!"

"The vacuum pumps, both the electric and the manual, work well. The sealer bags however, are another story. Of the bags that came with the vacuum pumps and the extras that I ordered, 50% failed to seal. Furthermore, I have not had any of those that worked the first time, seal again after freezing them."

"I purchased this product to keep my venison and fresh fish safe from freezer burn. With in two days the seals on 15 of the 18 had broken and air had filled the packages compromising my game. Needless to say I am not satisified. I do not recommend this product to others."

"I have been extremly unsatisfied with the zip vac kit. The hand and battery powered pumps work. However, the problem is in the bags. Approximately 9 out of 10 bags did not maintain a vacum seal. Faulty valves on the bags allowed air to slowly enter the bags."

"Last month, my wife bought the ZipVac kit and bags for me as a gift. I am an avid fisherman on the Columbia and its been a great year for smoking Sockeye. I was surprised that the kit works just as well as the much more expensive heat sealers that I have used over the years. "I bought this primarily to package game that I bag but since I have none at this time, I used it to protect some steaks I had bought. It is easy to use and easy to clean afterward. The steaks were perfect after freezing them. No frost or freezer burn at all. I recommend this product to anyone that freezes anything!"

"I am really happy with the little device. I find myself using it frequently. So long as you make sure the bags are zipped tight, it works like a charm. "Works like a charm. In the several dozen times that I've used the unit, I've never experienced air escaping out of the vacuumed bag. Just make sure you seal the zipper properly by making a second pass through the zipper line. Once you zipper is sealed, you won't have any problems. Very happy that it is rechargeable too !!!!!"

"Very disappointed with this. I've only had 2 of 7 that stayed sealed and 'shrunk'. the rest were no better than a regular zip type storage bag. The new double zipper type with 2 stripes would be the ticket if you could vacuum the air out. I would return it if I could."
