"I bought this for my wife to use with sinking line on lakes. I think it will be adequate for that purpose. It was easy to switch from left hand to right hand retrieval. Although its not made from aluminum it seems to be pretty well tuned. I'm glad I bought this on sale, I think for the money at full price its not that fantastic. Like i said i bought it on sale so i think its a pretty good reel for the price i paid. However for a little more money the Cabela's Prestige Plus is a huge value on a great reel."

"For my type of fishing this is an outstanding reel for the price.
Quality is good or better than higher priced reels.
Always felt that until you got into place for big fish all the fly reel does is hold the line."

"Nice light-weight reel. I bought one for myself, and really liked it. My grandson used my combo with the Three Forks Fly Reel; so I had to get him one for his new St. Croix Reign fly rod. He absolutely loves that reel. I gave it four stars because the rest of my fly reels are Cabela's SLA. Those get five. But really, These should too for the price. The Drag on these is super."

"I bought this reel along with the Three forks rod. It was on sale for 50 bucks so I thought it wouldn't hurt to have another. The drag is very good. I've reeled in two Chinook salmon with it. It is very similar to the redington crosswater. If you need a cheap reel with a very good drag then this is a good choice."

"The reel has very good brake system. It also is very smooth and easy to change from right to left hand.The anti reverse bearing is the same as we used in the electrical mechanical industry. Being Graphite there is no problem usin around salt wateer. Very good product."

"I've landed two steelhead already with this reel and I found it's performance flawless. The second steelhead was a real test for the reel. The very first run involved three leaps taking my line way into the backing. There was no trouble with the Rulan drag. Having set the drag about half-way before fishing there was no backlash to the rapidly moving fish. When it came time to recover line I found the large arbor of the reel did so smoothly and rapidly. During the landing of the steelhead I appreciated the convience of the large drag adjustment knob. The appearance and function of this reel has pleased me. For the value I will definitely be recommending Cabelas Three Forks Fly Reel to friends and clients."
