"A relative's flyrod was crushed while in transit by an airline. They also managed to lose all his fly gear. With a once-in-a-life-time trip to the Yukon backcountry pending, he was crushed too. I was able to order this combo outfit on short notice and it arrived in time for our trip. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and craftsmanship. This is an excellent rod & reel for the money. A great outfit for larger western waters."

"I'm a beginner fly-fisherman and did a lot of research before purchasing the 9' traditional II rod (5 wt) with the Three Forks reel. I've practiced everyday since I recieved the outfit 2 weeks ago and have taken it fishing twice, the second being a 5 stop tour of trout streams in southwestern Missouri. The more I cast the better this rod feels. The reel is smooth too. This outfit has made learning the sport all that more enjoyable. Any negatives are a result of me being a beginner and will go away when I get proper technique down. As a beginner this combo is awesome and the quality is such that I can see using it for many years to come. The only reason I gave this a '4' star instead of a '5' star is because I have nothing to compare it to since this is my first outfit. Happy fishing!"

"Enjoy using this outfit. Large carp and not enough patience led to broken tip. Cabela's does not sell just the tip section, and now the procedure of return, etc., etc., etc..... Works good other wise."
