Cabela's is joining the Three Forks rods, which provide novice and experienced anglers alike with moderat/fast-action performance, with pre-spooled Ross Flystart Reels that have all the high-quality machined-aluminum components of more
expensive brands for an unbeatable combination at a price you can't afford to miss.
For years, Cabela's Three Forks rods have been the choice for anglers seeking a quality fly rod at an affordable price.
Now they are even better. All components have been upgraded, creating a look and feel you'd expect from a rod costing
three times as much. Because of popular demand, we've kept the moderate actions the same on the 7'6" 3-weight and
8' 5-weight models. All other rod models have been reworked to produce a moderate/fast action that is great for
beginners and experienced anglers alike. Cosmetic upgrades include an appealing burnt-olive-colored blank, dark
cocobolo reel seat and double-foot snake guides. The 8-weight models feature an aluminum reel seat and
fighting butt.
Attach one of these great pre-spooled Ross Flystart reels to your rod and you're ready to fish. The self-lubricating, synthetic drag
system
has
offset gear-to-gear disc-drag engagement that promotes seamless transition between line-in and drag engagement
with no start-up friction. Exposed rim allows palming for enhanced breaking control. Frame and quick-release spool
are manufactured of aircraft-quality aluminum with a corrosion-resistant electrostatic coating. Reels come
pre-spooled with backing, WF-floating fly line and a tapered leader. Reels are set up for left-hand retrieve but are
convertible to right-hand retrieve. Combo includes weight-forward fly line and backing.

Great starter kit,September 1, 2009
By CowboyPetefrom Colorado
"After shopping at several outdoor companines, I settled on this as my first fly rod. The deal is unbeatable for what you get. I caught 3 trout in my first hour of fishing with it. It performed well - much better than the loaner rod I learned on at another major retailer and a much better deal than their "entry-level" outfits."

Ross yes,Three forks not so much.,August 6, 2009
By Haresearfrom Seattle, WA
"First off,you can't go wrong with a Ross reel.No matter the cost or model. I wish I could say the same about the Three Forks fly rod.The first thing I notice was that the first guide was at least a qtr inch out of alignment.I know that this is not a pricey rod but the least you can hope for in a fly rod is straight guides. The action is not bad but clearly the construction is poor.I have looked at other rods for around the same price and thet all managed to have straight guides."

I cant believe it fly rods,July 14, 2009
By MrWonderfulfrom Texas and Ohio
"Great value. Great perfomance. A friend told me to order 1 each 3 forks/Cahill and try them. I still cant beleive this nice this good a drag for the $s. Love its all a balanced package. I love pre syncronized packages. I have some way high dollar rods/reels/etc and these both measure up to them! I have demoed its equivelncy at the trout club and on the stream. Amazingly it looks class too. I must admitt this and the Cahill sets are the best deals Ive seen on the planet. As a matter of fact over the weekend I was musing and thinking about some 2 handed spey jobs for fall Salmon so as soon as I finsh this Im gonna see if you all have Three Forks and/or Cahill 2 hander sets and order a couple-heck I can afford em : 1 for Fall Great Lakes Salmon and another for big Texas river bass in the wind. I can afford to leave em both places! If you tell me who puts the Cahill and 3 Forks sets togeather I'll send em a nice Christmas card."

"I find this product very good for my use. Rod is limber, line floats well, retrieves well and casts great. Ross Reel is smooth, silant, and drag is easy to adjust. All in all the Ross Flystart Combo suits me just fine. Thank You Cabela's."

Great value,August 5, 2008
By Datnewg
"New to fly fishing and wanted an entry level setup. Very impressed with the overall performance. 8 weight setup has been just fine for the saltwater fishing I have beed doing, had no problem taking my fist blue fish, and on the 8 weight the action was great.
Thanks"

Great versatile combo,July 23, 2008
By BlackHillsfishermanfrom brookings, SD
"I just bought this combo for fishing smaller streams in the black hills but have not been disappointed in the least. I have the 763-flystart combo and haven't used my other heavier setup much since... I have been pleased with it since the beginning but was worried that it might not handle the bigger trout... that was until i landed a 22 inch rainbow and it handled the fish brilliantly... love this combo... great for beginners or even more advanced fly fishermen... the flystart reel is very well balanced with the 7.5 ft rod but may want to upgrade it at some point..."

Really Impressed,July 23, 2008
By NCRickfrom North Carolina
"I recently ordered this combo in 3 wt for bream fishing. Being used to 6 through 10 weight outfits, I have to tell you I could find absolutely nothing I would change about this set up. It is beautifully finished and it casts like a dream. I am planning on buying the 5 wt eight foot rod in my next order. Also, the Ross Flystart seems like a great reel for the money. Thanks"

Good starter rod,May 5, 2008
By Gladdyfrom CA
"I bought this for my 8-year old. He wants to start fly fishing. The rod tip has a soft feel, but for a beginner, should work great and 8 ft is better for a beginner than a 9ft. For the price, with backing, flyline, leader included, you can't beat this set up."

Excellent Product,March 18, 2008
By er928from Anaheim, California
"I am an avid fly fisherman who grew up as a child fishing some of the greatest trout rivers and lakes in Montana. This rod combo was purchased to replace a lost rod and I have to admit the expectations were not there for this price. I was really surprised by the performance of this combo. Granted I could never really understand why anyone would pay so much money for some of the fly gear i see out there, so I haven't owned any high end stuff. But this combo has the strength, pop and touch to get the job done. Fly fishing is about talent more than equipment anyway. You can set a dry down with a noodle if your good. The reel is there when you need it, and has a seriously smooth action. Since moving to California I was jonesing for a fly fishing fix and had to settle for the surf, using this six weight I was able to punch through the wind and get out there where the fish are, again, very surprising to me. A great rod combo at an unbelievable price! If your disappointed in this combo, maybe you need more practice. It's not about the "bike""
