Very nice Holster.,

"After checking out many companies, outfitters, gun shop's, etc to find a holster that holds my Taurus Judge correctly. I at long last find exactly what I'm looking for from the Hunter Company, in the Cabela's Shooting catalogue....
I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews, that the two may not fit but, the holster I received fit my 'Judge' like a glove. I still gave it a few coats of good ol saddle wax & now it's lost it's "NEW' look as is nice & supple. Perfect fit for the 2½" Judge. I would recomend this holster to anyone & may well purchase some more Hunter Company Holsters for our other hand guns.."

"talked with Hunter Company and was told to order through cabella's and save money. hats off. good man. there seems to be some misunderstanding as far as fit and product numbers. hunter has a belt and a moulded thumb break holster for the 2 1/2" cylinder and the 3" cylinder. taurus refers to the 3 in cylinder as the "magnum" which uses a 3" .410 shell . all tarus judges have a 3' barrell with the exception that has been advertised and not yet produced called the "public defender" model which has a 3' cylinder and a shorter 2" ? barrell. order the right product for the right pistol and you won't be dissapointed. as has been said before you can soak leather in water and shrink fit to your pistol. ( if you order the style for the s&W 500 ) well made products, good stitching, thick leather. happy shooting. sigman"

"I read the reviews others posted and decided to buy . Glad I did! Very well made, should last for many years. I wiped it down with Mink oil, and let it sit overnight with the pistol in it. Nice snug fit, perfect."

"Read the reviews, Soaked holster in Hot water for 15 minutes, Wrapped gun in plastic, Set on top of fridge for 3 days, heated leather with wifes hair dryer, Rubbed mink oil on it , and wallaaaaaaaa.......... GREAT HOLSTER!!!1"

Will Not fit 3" cylinders,

"If you are thinking of using this on your 3" magnum with the shortest barrel Taurus offers, think again (2.5"?). This holster will not fit your pistol. The front lower portion of the frame bottoms out on the curved portion of the holster leaving the rear portion of the trigger guard protruding about 1.5" out of the holster, this leaves the trigger unprotected from brush snags and such.
Overall, holster looks acceptable for quality. It seems to be somewhat thinner leather than Hunters of yester year. I thought they used veggie oil for tanning, and they might, but this unit was very, very stiff. So get some mink oil or what ever you perfer when you order. None the less I was able to bottom out my pistol in the holster by placing it on the floor. I am returning the holster and continuing my search."

"After reading all the reviews, I took a chance and hoped I was one of the few who got a holster that would fit my Taurus Judge. It didn't come close. After soaking with water and shoving it in I finally got it to work. I shouldn't have to do that."

"I have read all these reviews on the good and bad of the fit of the Judge holster. As with any leather holster the proper way to handle them is this: You soak the holster in water. When it's thoroughly soaked you wrap your gun in plastic wrap and force it all the way into the holster. Let it dry a few days then, ALA, YOU HAVE A CUSTOM FIT HOLSTER. PRETTY SIMPLE, HUH? I have done it a hundred times. LARRY"

"excellent quality leather, well built, looks good! was stiff upon receipt, but about fifteen minutes using good Harley Davidson leather saddle soap and it is soft as a glove and fits beautifully! I am well pleased with the holster and recommend it highly!"

"Thick leather with excellent quality stitching. Pistol did not fit initially. Required baseball glove conditioner to soften and "custom shape" the leather. Now fits snugly but secure. Great product."

"It is a fair fit for the Taurus Judge. At first I thought the holster was not the right size. The leather is first quality and a tight fit, but I used it for a few days and decided to keep the holster. I would recommend it and be OK for your other guns too."

"The holster is very high quality leather and excellent workmanship. My Taurus Judge is the 3" stainless steel model and fits well without any problems. The holster is comfortable to wear. Although the Judge is heavy, the holster is sturdy."
