"I tracked a friends deer over 2 miles and he didn't even think he hit it. I pulled out the light and it worked awesome! It works perfect on leaves fair on tall grass and fair on rocks. Without it we would not have been able to track it and have a successful hunt.He was so impressed he went out and bought one. This is a good product!"

Got it yesterday=found deer because of it today, October 29, 2009
By ridgestand from Mountain Top, Pa.

"Two weeks ago I whacked a big eight and lost it only to find it a week later after a bear and coyotes had at it. I was sceptical yet ordered a bloodhunter, Got it yesterday, delivered from Cabelas, whacked another nice eight today and was able to find it only after trailing tiny spots of blood which stood out under this light. THANK YOU!!! One of the best purchases I've ever made."

    Disappointed, October 28, 2009
    By Gobblerdown from KC, MO

"I was very disappointed with this light. I bought this after not being able to find a deer that was shot in the evening. Anxious to use it, I drove 2 hrs after my father-in-law shot a buck and knew he hit it high. Light makes red reflections on weeds and grass, so everything looks like blood. Battery only lasted about 30 minutes. Using a bright flashlight is much better than this light."

    Bloodhunter, October 14, 2009
    By Dogbreth from Frankfort, KY

"I got my Mini bloodhunter yesterday. I went on the back deck last night. I stuck myself in the end of my finger with a straight pin. Put a few drops of blood on the deck. Turned off all the outdoor lights and turned on the bloodhunter. I could not tell the difference at all in the wood and the blood. Nothing glowed or showed up different in the least as far as finding blood. Today, I noticed that I knocked a scab off of my arm. I came back into my hunting room and put a couple of drops on my hunting coat. I need to wash it before I go back out anyways. I turned off all lights and shined my light. Nothing. There was nothing different at all on my coat to show that there was blood. I dobbed a white kleanx on my arm and put it on the floor. It was amazing. I turned off the lights and could not even tell where the red was on the kleenX. And this was a good splotch of blood on the white kleenx. It even seemed that this red and green light helped to hide the red blood. It didn't show up at all. Save yourself some money and go buy a coleman lantern. Or, don't make a shot so late at night that you have to track in the dark. If you do, this blood hunter will be totally useless to you."

    Bloodhunter, October 13, 2009
    By shootinggreat from Vermont

"I shot a deer with the bow just before dusk. Marked the trail then retrieved my Primos Bloodhunter to track it. The light actually camouflaged the blood trail. I spent two hours looking before getting my regular white light to track the deer. I finally found the deer it went about ninety yards from the hitting point. trying to use the light just prolonged my tracking by about three one-half hours."

Bloodhunter Full Size, October 8, 2009
By majorpatl from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

"- This spotlight does highlight blood trail if fully charged; however, the battery does not last long enough for a bow hunter to use by itself.
    - As batteries drain (after 45 minutes to 1 hour) it's difficult to tell that it no longer makes blood highlight since it still emits a similar light as when charged.
    - Recommend sticking to white light as much as possible and only use bloodhunter to find lost trails. Would either try smaller bloodhunter with lots of rechargable batteries or multiple full size bloodhunters if wanting to use bloodhunter alone.
    - Takes too long to recharge battery and can't change battery once dead (full size only). Can't recharge and get back in the woods the same night.
    - It really helps to use several light sticks or small flashlights to mark blood trail so you can see the direction deer heading when trail gets spotty. Just mark a few spots then leap frog to the next spot.
    - Bloodhunter is useless as soon as it rains; but, then so is white light.

    DID IT'S JOB!!!, September 26, 2009
    By Deerhunter09

"I just shot a 10 point buck last night with my bow about 10 minutes before dark. I didn't put the best hit on him, so he ended up running about 120 yards. I had to track him through chest high grass the whole way, but because of this light, I found him with no problem. The blood trail was amazing!!! The lights make the blood trail almost glow. Definately a great buy!!"

i have seen this light work, it is the best, July 18, 2009
By catfishtracker from ft towson, ok

"me and my brother team hunt and last year a guy shot a doe right as the last light faded. we walk over to help him find the deer. the guy was unsure where he shot the doe at, so my brother turned on the light and a few passes in the area she went it looked like red led lights where the blood was at. it was amazing to see how this light made the blood trail jump out like it was above the ground. we have used the light alot to track deer people would normally lose because the blood trails was so faint you would miss with a normal flash light. thanks to this light last year we helped 10 people find there deer after dark."

Trip into the Amazon, June 28, 2009
    By Dylan123 from Fla

"Used the green spotlight portion of the Bloodhunter to explore the Amazon at night. Worked very well, didn't disturbed the animals the way a white light does. The guide liked it so well I left it with him in the Amazon."

So far, unused, May 18, 2009
By 21Terry from near Camden, SC

"I haven't used the BloodHunter yet. Deer season is four months away. It does throw a good beam in all three colors. I'm disappointed that the unit is completely sealed. Unless I'm wrong, when the rechargable batteries eventually die out, the BloodHunter itself needs to be thrown away and replaced with a new one. Once I use the BloodHunter in night tracking, I'll update this review."

    Excellant Product, April 7, 2009
By TrophyChasers from California, Out of State Trophy Hunter Group

"We used the original rechargable product two tears ago to track a mule deer buck in the worst terrain ever for tracking. We found the deer deep in a canyon, no moon light available...just the blood tracker light. We were impressed at how well the blood tracking light worked. Paid for it self the first hunting trip.

The light is a little heavy for backpacking and has limited power available for a backpack trip. If you have a power source to recharge the light. It is great.

This past 2008 hunting season. We switched to the newer mini plus because of the smaller size (weight) for backpack, portablity and power issues. Being able to just throw in another set of batteries works best for us. We looked for an elk almost all night this past year in poor tracking terrain with about 300 sheep herd on the slope and finally got on the blood track with the mini tracker light on the second set of batteries. Sheep came down the ridge after the shot and covered over the elk tracks and blood trail.

The mini tracking light worked in the worst conditions ever....

Excellent blood finder!, April 3, 2009
    By makij from Bessemer, MI

"I'm not sure where the low scores are coming from, (if used correctly) this light has worked exceptionally well for me. I purchased this light for my father as he luckily gets to do more hunting than I do these days, but as I am still his son, I am the one who ends up using the bloodhunter. I can honestly say, if you have fresh blood, the blood will stand out.... hours later!

Yes, if you are tracking a poorly hit animal that is releasing a pindrop of blood every 20 yards in ferns while you are running, it will be difficult to notice. But if you are taking your time, properly tracking, a drop of blood the size of Lincoln's head on a penny will CLEARLY stand out.

It has easily cut my tracking time by 2/3, in dry conditions.

Curb your Enthusiasm!!!!!, January 21, 2009
    By Bayoubama from Alabaster, AL

"I had higher expectations for the way this light would make blood stand out in the woods at night. I found that it wasn't that much different than a normal flashlight. Not to mention, I didn't like the way you have to push one button four different times to go through the progression of the different functional lights. I think some type of selector switch coupled with a button would have been a better option IMHO.

Overall, a decent product but not a must have.

    Bloodhunter, January 21, 2009
    By wbaise from NC

"Received this the last week of deer season, and was only able to use it once. Hunting partner shot a doe right at dark and got to try it out. It shows blood quite well, but only when there is blood to see. It was not a good hit and we were never able to find the deer, the blood trail was sparse at best, but you can't find what isn't there. I did notice that when in grass or weeds of any height, the light seemed to reflect off the weeds and make the background red as well which can be confusing. If you sweep it right to left approximately 3 feet in front of you and look where the green and red light come together, if there is blood out there, you will see it. Biggest disadvantage is you only have a little over an hour on a full charge if you are running both lights together."
