"This is a good feeder, overall. Easy to load and operate, but you better do a couple of things for long life. You MUST put some sealant around the top of the control box mounted on the side, and around the screw holes that connect it to the box. Also, put some sealant around the electrical line that runs to the feeder motor where water cannot get into that part. Small amounts of water will get into the control box and the vapor will lock up the timer, etc. A lot of water can get into the motor with that line going down (like a trail for the water). If you do this, then the feeders will work like a charm and you will love them. Don't know why Moultrie will not engineer this a little better, at very little cost."

EZ fill is EASY!,

"Love this feeder. Used it twice a day for a month and when I took the battery out it was still 75%! So easy to put together, program, and fill. This is a no brainer. I painted mine with camo paint so it blends in better. Recommended to a friend and he loves his too!"

Metal Funnel Needed,

"Seems to be a good feeder overall. Fairly easy to put together and very easy to refill. The timer and feed mechanism seems to work good and is easy to set. I have only had it in the field for 3 months but already have problems with squirrels getting through the cage and chewing the plastic spinner and funnel. My funnel had enough chewed away to allow the corn to pour out without stopping. They really need to put a METAL funnel and spinner on this feeder because the varmit cage doesn't keep the small critters out."

"Excellent tripod feeder for the money. Really like the idea of getting the battery away from the spin/cast mechanism. Easy to assemble and set-up plus easy to set feed times, intervals, and length. I now own three feeders so I'm a repeat customer."

"This is a fantastic feeder. It holds a good amount of feed, and is easy to fill. I made a round basket out of rectangle fence to keep the coons out, and wire tied it to the legs. it works great. easy to program, test etc. I will be buying another soon."

"I bought this feeder with no clue how it would do. Read the reviews on here and most people were satisfied. Got the feeder out of the box and put it together with no problems and set it up that day. The feeder has attracted a lot of raccoons but i put vaseline on the legs and they cant get up to the spinner to spin corn to themselves! Worked like a charm, also taped the wires inside the feeder and that seemed to hold them in place. Very pleased with the feeder and i will be purchasing another soon!"

Water in the motor,

"I have had this feeder since September 2008. It's on our home property and has a steady flow of deer. It suddenly stopped working two weeks ago. You could not even turn the motor by hand. I took the bottom cover off of the motor amd it was full of water. The electrical line that runs from the timer to the motor is NOT sealed. Nothing in the instructions mentions sealing the fitting the cable passes through in the motor housing. Just a couple of drain holes in the base would fix the problem. Sent an e-mail to Moultrie a week ago, no response.
The unit goes through batteries but thanks to rechargables it's not so bad.
Poor design, no response. I will not buy another Moultrie. I had a 30 gallon hanger before this one and it lasted 5 years and is still going on a friends farm. I wanted something easier to fill at 60+ years. I got what I paid for.
Poor design, poor customer service = going elsewhere."

"Very poor design put it out near my stand where i was getting tons of pics of deer now all i get are pics of coons hanging all over this feeder , they crawl up the legs and hang by the bottom of the varmint guard and take their paws and dig the corn out, Not much of a varmint guard, went through 300-400 pds of corn in 2 months with the settings moultrie said would last 4 months and use 200 pds of corn and haven't had a pic of a deer on my trail camera since it was installed. Its coming out and probably my wife will make a flower pot with it LOL!!!"

"feeder went together easy with very little effort. Look it over a little before you start and it is easy to assemble. Use a little of your own ideas to seal it up from the weather a little better. Use a little calking in a few of the joints and its water tight. The timer is a breeze but the spinner should be metal. Only if the critters don't eat the plastic it is a wonderful feeder."

"Feeder is relatively easy to assemble. It comes with everything you need except the battery. I would suggest painting it in sections before assembly, I used Krylon Fusion and it holds up well. I have had the feeder up about 3 weeks now and it is working great. You can program to feed up to 6 times a day. I would recommend getting the solar charger that cabelas sells. I installed it on this feeder along with the rechargeable battery and it keeps the battery gauge at 100% all the time. The obvious reason that I bought this feeder was it's height, so easy to load, I used to have to back my four wheeler up and try and stand on the rear rack while trying to load a 50lb bag inside. We all know that can be unsafe. Now I just stand there and dump them in.

"It took me 35 minutes to put together with a screwdriver and a wrench.
Dumped 4, 50lb bags of corn into the top with EASE.
Timer took a minute or two to figure out. Finally had to read the instructions on how to set up a test feed dispersement.
Next day a doe came in and stomped when she saw it but didn't run away either. Can't wait for'em to get used to the new "dinner bell"."

"I have had this feeder for about 6 months and I absolutely love it. Feed can easily be loaded into the feeder from the ground and the easy, digital timer is very user friendly. The varmitt guard has did its job. I purchases a rechargeable battery and a solar panel from cabelas as well and the battery has stayed at 100% since I put it up. This is the best feeder and its at an awesome price."

"Nice to have 200 # of corn without visiting the feeder often. Instructions on assembly are very lacking. Get tent stakes to keep it anchored to the ground to protect it from tipping over in a bad wind. I;m not a fan of how the varmint guard attaches to the feeder. Overall, OK but just OK."
