One fantastic knife,

"Outdoor Edge hit a homerun with this one! I have owned several knives over the years. I have tried gut hooks as well as other styles of blades. This knife blows them all away! The curved "gutting" blade is by far the easiest knife I have ever used for the job. I have used it on two deer this fall and am absolutely amazed at how well it works. It takes little to no effort and there is none of the clogging of hair etc. that occurs with a gut hook. Then, with a simple push of a button, you have a second blade to use in finishing the job. A fantastic product."

"Tried to use the knife tip to punch threw a piece of plastic that I am confident I could have done with any other knife and the tip busted. This was not misuse-just not good quality."

"I read lots of great reviews so I bought two of these for friends. I figured I'd let them try them out first and I'd decide from there.
Couldn't be more pleased...they arrived shaving sharp, and the gut blade is easy to use and more importantly, easy to resharpen. My old gut hook blade on my Buck CrossLock knife has served me well over the years, but it's a bugger to sharpen. Not so with the Swing Blade gutting blade. I really like the handle material as well; it has a good feel and won't get slippery when your hands are wet.
Awesome design, great product."

"Just return from week long northern califorina Black Tail deer hunt where I was lucky to harvast a nice buck. I used this knife on frist cut to the last cut in my ktchen. The swing gutting blade worked very well and almost with no effort at all, then the drop point was great for skinning and than great at quarting and boning out and very easy to touch up the sharpness. The non slip handle worked very well and liked the fit. I own alot of knike but this one is already in my pack for montana elk . Thxs"

"After a bit of research on the web, I saw a review of the SwingBlade on a show and decided this was the blade I was looking for. While I haven't had the chance to use it, I'm sure it will work perfectly.
So why a four instead of five stars? I put it on my belt as soon as I got it and while I had it on, the sheath caught on the arm of my chair a couple of times. A pop rivet on the sheath's belt loop snapped off. Fortunately, I have replacement snaps (like the ones on the flaps of jacket pockets) at home and made the repair easily and the sheath will now slip over a belt wider than 2" easily also."

"I bought this knife at the Post falls< ID store on my way from Oregon to Montana for a archrey antelope hunt! after the 2 antelope and one mule deer I gave it about 10 strokes each side w/ the fine ceramic rods. After the Elk it is still sharp !! Online today to purchase the outdoor edge "caper lite" hope it is as good as the swing blade!!:)"

"I bought this right before the 2008 season, and I've used it on 7 deer so far. Very impressed. I touch up the blade after each deer, but yesterday I field dressed two in a row without needing sharpening. The gut hook works better than any I've ever used, and will be much easier to resharpen than the others. I would personally prefer a drop point blade for gutting, as the extra straightness to the cutting surface makes the "reaming" part a little easier. I wish that I had seen that they were putting out a blaze orange model before I had used this for the first time."

"All I can say is WOW. I got this knife for my boyfriend and after seeing what an amazing job it did i had to get one for myself. The gut blade is way better than any other gut knife we have used. It does not clog with hair as other gut blades do. Also it holds a sharp edge very well. I would recommend this product to anybody, well worth the money."

"Works very well. The only drawback is the sheath that the knife fits into - it seems to bind a little when putting the knife in. Knife holds an edge well. Gutting blade is very efficient. I bought it after a friend (who owns many different knives) recommended it."

"The skinning blade is the perfect size for skinning the animal, and the gut blade really does rip the skin open like it is a zipper.
I use the gut knife to make a cut along the spine from the neck all the way down to the tail, then remove the skin from the animal in two seperate panels. This blade makes this process so much faster and cleaner than the old style gut hook blade.
I highly recommend this knife."

"I have used the knife on 7 Deer,. You can gut a deer in about 30 sec. Its made in China but it has a hardness of about 60. It stays sharp for 1 deer and then needs to be touched up with a steel. I own many knifes and have taken Rabbits to Elk. This is a great knife for the field."

"I have to tell you I was skeptical as to buying into the promos on all of the hunting shows for the swingblade. Let me put it all to rest. This knife is worth the money and you will not be disappointed. It has a blade that is made of quality metal. I personally used it on five deer this past season and my hunting buddies used it on three deer. I still haven't had to sharpen it so to say that it holds an edge would be an understatement! I have had other knives with gut hooks but this knife opens up the deer like a zipper. Unbelievable! If you want a quality knife for big game you can't go wrong with this purchase!"
