Drake heat escape EST,
January 12, 2010
By oldmaster

"I have the full zip model......it woks pretty well except for.....the Drake logo sewn onto the front leaked even though it is supposed to be sealed.......the arm pit zips are great for controlling heat..... biggest complaint is the lower slash pockets have a small rain flap over the zippers but the small half inch flap is facing up so it catches rain instead of directing it away from the zipper&pocket.....eventually the rain gets in through the zipper which is not waterproof and gets into the pocket. chest/upper pockets same issue with rain coming in. Poor Design!!!! Drake has some good ideas but not very well thought out final designs."

Great Outer Shell,
February 16, 2009
By deessh4

|
"This pullover makes for a great outer shell to use for layering in cold weather or just by it self in warmer conditions. I especially like how the hood will roll up into the collar and get out of the way; but is still accessible when I need it. The vents work really well at letting excess body heat escape. The pullover blocks out all wind and rain. I would definitely recommend this pullover to someone looking for a light, wind/rain proof outer shell."

Drake EST Pullover,
November 28, 2008
By KBon

"This is an excellent piece of early season gear. It's not designed to keep you warm, but to simply offer some protection from the elements before the weather turns cold. Waterproof ,windproof, and very packable, I keep mine in a storage compartment on my boat in case of rain."

EST Drake Pullover,
October 28, 2008
By Calikev1
from Oakdale, Ca
|
"The Drake EST Pullover is ideal for the early season, warm hunting we have in the Central Valley of California. The garment is very packable and lightweight which is real important when the mercury runs high in the early season. It also has some level of rain protection which makes it a great choice for days when there is a possible chance of rain. I love the Mossy Oak Bottomland Camo as well which is a great neutral base camo for all purpose hunting."

"I have been very pleased with this jacket. Either as a stand alone for cool weather or as a layering jacket for moderatly cold weather (25 degrees and up). It also handled well in steady rain and sleet. Again, very pleased."

poor design,
January 27, 2007

"this is a good jacket for hot weather, but this has got to be the coldest jacket i have ever worn. The buttons on the hood that snap the mouth cover are a bad design, it only fits small people. Velcro would be better. The magnetic pocket is the most pointless thing i have ever seen. it has one 1" magnet that keeps a 4" tall pocket closed. If you put shells in it they will fall out. i recently lost my $300 GPS because it fell out of that pocket while i was hunting in some flooded timber (i found the GPS on a low tide after being submerged for more than a week , and it still worked Garmin GPSmap60). The neoprene cuffs would be even better if they were waterproof. it works great on thos warmer days when your moving around alot. If you want a jacket that looks good and is name brand, i would recommend this one, but it wasnt what i was expecting."

Drake Pullover,
November 20, 2006
By DPPM
from Venice, La.
|
"The pullover is everything I thought it would be. I hunt in South Louisiana where it is wet, cold or hot. In cool weather it keeps you warm and it hot weather you don't have to peel it off like most other jackets. You don't seem to notice the heat at all. Especially while wearing chest waders. The neoprene cuffs are well worth the money spent as well. I have used plenty of different hunting clothes and this one is put together well."
