spotting scope great,April 8, 2009
By Leratofrom Nulato AK
"For the price, it's a great spotting scope, with both a nice hard-sided case and a soft case. The optics are fine and I am impressed with what I can see through it. The tripod is tiny, but works fine on my dining table aimed across the Yukon River. For any other use, a large tripod is necessary."

SPOTTING SCOPE HEAVEN,October 6, 2008
By Andyoldeyesfrom Salem, NH
"The Cabela's spotting scope is by far the best for the money. I have used several different scopes in the past, and none come close to the magnification, clarity, and field of vision, without spending at least three times the money. I could not be happier."

Spotting Scope,September 30, 2008
By ElkAholic2from West Winfield, NY
"I had ordered a spotting scope that was on back order and wasnt due to be shipped until after my departure date for my big hunt. The Cabela's Tech recommended this scope to me. I agreed. However, when it came, it was so large that it took up a lot of space in my backpack and space is critical. I took it on the trip anyway and never was able to use it. It was too big and too powerful for the area I was hunting. I am returning it only for that reason. It was well made and very clear view. I am reordering a smaller, more compact model to hike with."

Good scope, a little tough to focus,July 3, 2008
By Jodster
"I am very pleased with the clarity and power of the scope. Plus it draws good light at dawn and dusk. The one thing I wish were better is the abilty to focus it at the higher power settings, it doesn't focus near as well as other scopes I have worked with in the past."

Cabela's Alpha Spotting Scope,June 23, 2008
By Vic10from St. Louis, MO
"I bought mine for long distance target shooting 300 to 500 meters. It is the 20-80X80. So far, I've only gone to a local 100 yard range. This is way overkill for 100 yards. Seems to be a good scope. Not quite as much eye relief as I expected at medium settings but should be OK with a good tripod. I don't expect to use it at maximum. I think the scope has real potential. On the other hand, the trypod that comes with it is VERY dissapointing. It would be useless for checking 30 cal bullet holes at much more than 150 yards. Even for 100 yards there is quite a lot of movement but at 20x it's not really a test for this scope."

20-80X80 Alpha Series Spotter,January 8, 2008
By Doshfrom Arizona
"What an improvement compared to my old scope! I can see objects more clearly and with such detail even at full power. I was hesitant to purchase the 80 power but am very pleased with the performance. My hunting friends thought it was as clear and detailed as a much higher priced unit. I paired it with Cabela's Professional 72" Heavy Duty tripod for a rock solid combo. Well worth the price and then some!!"

Alpha Spotting Scope,September 11, 2007
By hagtccfrom Montana
"Nice scope for the money. The tripod that comes with it is pretty much useless and is plastic. It only stands about twelve inches tall. I would have rather had a window mount for a vehicle than the tripod. The scopes clarity is good until you get up into the higher magnification. I've never looked through a scope with this high of magnification so I have nothing to compare it to. Over all I think it's a really nice well built scope for the money."
