Excellant Product,March 11, 2009
By TrophyChasersfrom California, Out of State Trophy Hunter Group
"Everyone in our group uses this model GPS. It is light, high quality and easy to use.
We packpack deep into wilderness areas and mark "Waypoint" everything. Then when you go home you can download your treks and spots to your computer on a Garmin Topo ariel overlay.
Works great !!!!!
For the serious back country backpacker in addition a GPS someone in your group should carry a "ACR" PLB for emergency's. Its your 911 to the satillites. Worth every penny when a life in on the line and there is no cell phone signal for 50 miles."

Exellent unit,December 22, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Winnipeg, MB
"I've had this unit for over a year and it is the best. I got it for a great price it has not let me down. It is so versitale. During the summer I do a lot of bike riding especially on the trails so it really comes in handy. I use the track feature to keep a log of where I've been. The fact that it is waterproof makes it idea for this task. It's great for walking and I use it in my car. Overall it so easy to use and I love the battery life (I use Nickel Metal Hydrides). Great product Garmin!"

junk,December 13, 2008
By OlSwampyfrom St. Cloud, MN
"have had it for 2 yers, used only for ice fishing and marking deer stands...i am gentle with it, yet it now cuts out when not in constant use..you can not just leave it sit on in an idle mode..the only way to turn it off when it goes blank with a blue line down the screen is to take the battery out. the toggle switch also broke after 1 year of seldom use...spend your money on a delorme."

Good GPS,December 5, 2008
By Blue68from Minnesota
"Love this GPS. got it at a discounted price. You can never go wrong with Cabela's. GPS come with Highways and Freeways already loaded. Lets you what store are coming up on freeway exits and rest areas. Quick to find satelites. The mouse type toglle on the front of the unit makes it really easy to search through maps. Nice color display. Easy to use menus. TOPO maps will be next. Can't wait."

Mixed review,November 30, 2008
By lpflrichardsfrom Florida
"As a fisherman, hunter, scoutmaster an an on-the-road driver, I have mixed reviews.
I previously owned a Legend. I had it 8 yeara and had it rebuilt once. It is malfunctioning again and therefore led me to question Garmin Quality.
I have tried other GPS units and none are as user friendly as the Garmin design.
I'm dissapointed to find the features I liked most; compatiblility with Microsoft Maps, for my work computer; were no longer functional.
The color screen is hard to read in the field and bright Florida sun. The color schemes avialable don't help this siutalion.
The antenna sensitivity is awesome. I sat in my house and got signal I could not get in the oaks. Many added functions are nice too. I guess I should spring the extra $50(approx) for the street program that will function wiht my work laptop.
All and all, the best GPS out there. But, I may have been better off to opt for the basic Legend model for use in the woods, due to readibility."

By sunseekerfrom New Jersey
"i have used other brand gps handhelds, but the learning curve has been one daunting task. the garmin is as easy as turning on the unit and following the on-screen prompts. i find the unit to be quite accurate in all circumstances. i'm using this unit as a backup to my auto's gps. cabela's offers this unit at the best online price that i have seen."

good but has defaults.,July 21, 2008
By bwreevesfrom conn./utah
"Well I moved to connecticut for a period of time and the roads are not straight like the west. So I decided instead of having to get lost with maps, I would use a gps. I researched and i have always liked the garmins so it was my first pick. I love it, it finds all the streets and even finding locations is great for it. I have really enjoyed having it and it has made my life ten times easier the only problem it has, is that it takes awhile for it to get satilites. When moving or when there is a cloud coverage (heavy cloud coverage that is). But when you are standing still and waiting for it to get its location, it works great and then when you move after that it works great very rarely do I ever lose signal. Sometimes it has had a few moments where it freezes up but thats apart of electronics its bound to happen. But over all I have loved this little guy its small and its easy to work and hold, it works great and it will continue to work great when I get the topo maps on it also. So if your looking for a gps that is dependable and aren't in a hurry then this one is great for you and its reasonably priced to."

"Great product - I bought it for hunting in unfamilar territory and it does a great job. I'd like to use it as an auto gps too but I'm not real happy with the fact that you have to buy regions instead of the entire US."

First GPS,September 25, 2007
By Wily1from Brandon, Manitoba
"This is my first GPS and I did a lot of research before buying one and decided on the xTrex Legend Cx. I do a lot of hunting, fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities. I live and hunt in South Western Manitoba where the terrain can change quite a bit within a short drive. I have downloaded the topo map and the detail and accuracy are amazing. I only purchased it a few weeks ago and within a short time had it figured out, the ease of use is another nice feature. (you do have to read the manual but it is well written) I have had a chance to use it hiking, scouting, and on my first couple of bowhunts and it already has proven useful to mark stands etc. I already know that this is one tool I will get a lot of use out of in the future. I think that for anyone who wants a GPS primarily for hunting (and fishing) you can't go wrong with this unit. Dave Brandon, Manitoba"
