Massive wound channel? YES!,October 20, 2009

"Massive wound channel says it all! I shot a large Canada Honker at 40 yards with Black Cloud 3" #2s and was able to insert 2 fingers into one of the bloody wound channels (and I have VERY large digits). If you are a sausage stuffer, the murderous shock of these loads eliminates any need for a meat grinder! I shot a teal at 15 yards and all I was was a flash of red and a cloud of feathers. What happened to the teal? Where did it go? I don't know! I didn't recover enough meat to fill a thimble."

"simply the best waterfowl loads ive ever used. i tried all the other brands on the market and gotta say the black cloud tops all. i have no problems droping birds 50-80 yards. even when i cripple a bird, these shells hit so hard i never have to chase them around. its worth the couple extra bucks."

"Took a case to Sodak last fall and literally gave away the last two boxes and used a cheap steel that worked better. I kept seeing a lot of feathers fly from birds in decoys at 35 yards or less. My buddy that was on the trip had already informed me that he shot one box and would never shoot then again. He was shooting Nitro Mag High Velocity and handed me a handful after picking at the black cloud again. I folded the next 3 birds graveyard dead exaclty the way he had been doing all morning. I went back to shooting my shells and watched feathers fly again, and birds drop a few feet then keep on going. I was dissapointed with buying a case of these shells based on all the good reports!
Our friend from Sodak came up to where we hunting and brought a box with him for his new 31/2 beretta. We tried to tell him but he insisted that everyone was busting them at the preserve he ran...Well, he shot less than 10 shells and tried to trade us what he had left for 5 of my buddies shells....He got a handful, same story.
Other major issue - this is a dirty load, a lot of residue and blow back into your face. Make sure to wear glasses!
Try another load, there are a lot of options out there. Personally, i am buying Nitro Mag High Velocity...."

"I have been water fowl hunting since I was 7yrs old. I can remember using lead and watching ducks fall like rocks. When steel first came out we started chasin cripples and have never stopped. My father bought me a box for x-mas and after all these years and trying different shells, BLACK CLOUD is going to be the only shells I will carry from now on. If you happen to cripple a bird and it hits the water, you will see first hand what they can do. These shells don't make a shot line like regular stell, black clouds actually make a pattern. These shells are devistating. NEVER CHASE ANOTHER BIRD"

"I'm impressed with Black Cloud's knockdown power given it's only steel (well, special steel mix...). The load has done an excellent job of crunching ducks at ranges of 30 to 50 yards, clean kills. The only complaint I have would be the loads seemed to burn dirty, indicating some bad powder. My SBE has never had any problems, but it was starting to struggle to cycle and when I broke down for a cleaning, there was a ton of residue and fouling that I've never noticed with the Winchester and Remington loads I've shot to this point. Other than that, the load was impressive. I noticed a couple of other guys had similar problems, maybe it was a bad batch of powder. I will continue to buy and monitor the problem, but feel the killing power of this load is better than "regular" steel loads."

"I quit using regular steel shot and I don't have to shoot nearly as many times per duck harvested . Black Cloud is paying for itself . My friends were cussing their steel shot last week when they fired eight rounds to finish one mallard . It seems like you just want to make noise with your guns when you use regular steel shot . "This is amazing stuff, it does reach out further then regular steel and pounds them. In all my years duck hunting I never saw a Goldeneye hit the water in a splash of red until I used Blackcloud. It is awesome, even when its really cold. I would put it up there with any of the heavy hitters It also cycles well through an auto. I used the same load all season, Goose and Ducks same results no problems, good value."
