"I keep my pistol holstered with a loaded clip in it; never a round in the chamber though. This is the perfect system for me. You can keep your pistol in its holster and still have a great deal of safety with young kids in the house. With the lock in place you cannot chamber a round. The lock is adjustable for different barrel lengths. It takes a little practice locking and unlocking at first but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. The lock comes with a red tipped shaft that slides in to the barrel and then in to a false brass round. The brass round slides right into the chamber and with a twist of the key the two lock together tightly. The lock also pulls double duty in that it has a rubber gasket around the brass round and a rubber seal around the red tip that keeps your barrel free of dust and debris. I would certainly recommend this lock to anyone looking for a secure way to store your firearms with children in the home. I did quite a bit of research on many locks and I personally didn't want one that locked around the trigger. I read too many stories of handguns discharging by moving the lock around on those types of trigger guards and that coupled with the fact that even though the lock is on the trigger you can still chamber a round ruled that out in my case. There are certainly many options out there that may be better or not but I can only speak for this one and it certainly met my safety concerns!"

"I like to think of this as a system rather than individual locks, & it is GREAT. I like that the system is modular, compact & easy to use. One key for the entire system, I can have a key in several locations in the house. I wish Cabela's would sell for the .380 ACP...I think that would be a HOT SELLER (especially b/c I need one for that caliber). The only tip I could offer is that I use LOC-TITE between the threaded ends when using multiple rod sections so the rods dont slip apart."

"I teach a concealed weapons course and in by course I give several examples of gun safety locks, I purchased the lock to test and use as an example of different locks but now I use it daily. I would have given it a five star but I had problems with the short extendtion bar. I plan to purchase seveal more for the weapons I keep for quick access."

"Excellent quality and great engineering backs up this safety device. And to top it off its Made in USA! I wanted something more than a standard gun lock. This kit goes right in the barrel and locks so the gun is pretty much disabled until you unlock it with a special key. It even has a bright red tip at the end. It it specific to whatever caliber you have. It is so simple Im suprised someone hasnt come up with it sooner!"
