Very Nice, Accurate Crossbow,September 30, 2009

"Very nice technology and with my ageing eyes, the scope allows me to hit target bulleyes at 20/30/40 yrds. I've now taken my first two deer with it from a tree stand. First one was at 18yrds. The bolt with 100grain broadhead went thru the ribs, heart, and ribs and out the other side and stuck into the ground. Broke two blades. The 2nd deer was taken at 43yrds. Very powerful weapon.
Sometimes the trigger gives as if it will fire but I have to push it further to fire. And I can see a little wear already on the string and cables. But I've shot it alot this year. I imagine the poundage (160lbs) on these are pretty tough on the strings/cables. You must use bow wax. Also get the Barnett cocking string. Works very well."

"i had back surgery in 2001 and had to go to a crossbow i got a barnett revolution bow from cabelas. this year i found a broken lim. sent it in to barnett that is in the usa in florida. they sent it back to me in michigan . they fixed my bow with new lims new cables new pullies at ino charge i repeat no charge what a company.i will nevar by a nother bow from anybodey ells.

"Purchased at Dundee, MI after being jerked around by Sportsmans Guide. Very easy to assemble and with the locking foot stirrup it can be taken down in less than a minute. Shoots closer to 320 than the advertised 345 but still faster than a lot of crossbows that are twice the price. Sighted in easily in less than 10 shots and this bow hits hard. Only problem I had was the 4X scope was broken when I got it. The recticle was unscrewed and just laying in the scope tube. An email to Barnett had a replacement at my door in less than 2 days. I would have rather had a Predator but Michigan has limited crossbow speeds to under 350 fps and the Revolution fits the bill."

"I'm not sure how much Crossbow experience the other reviewers have but I couldn't have been happier so far. I've shot about 50 bolts thru it over the last weekend and once sighted in it worked great, after a few shots I checked it at 20, 40 and 60 yards (one complaint the 50 yd site line is more like 80 yards it was way high at 60 yards). As I stated 20-40 yards this thing is deadly, right on. I bought a Sims silencer kit but yes it is NOT quiet, welcome to the world of crossbows. It was amongst the quietest of the ones I test shot but that is not saying much. Loud yes, but much more accurate than I thought it would be. It sounds like not everyone read the directions, they clearly state that you need to lube/wax (provided) the string as well as the track every so many shots, with that speed it must build up a great deal of heat without lube. I'm very happy and can't wait for Deer Season to put it to good use."

"this was the worst purchase i have ever made. i bought the revolution and shot it about 30 times then the string snaped. at first i thought it was great then it starting loosing a lot of power. so i brought it back 3 days later and exchanged it for a new one. i took it home and shot it, sighted it in and 10 shots later i had to sight it in again. after a couple days and about 20-30 shots i was pulling it back and i only had about 5 pounds of pressure on it and the limb snaped off from the mount."

"I got a new BARNETT cross bow and it`s very heavy, the quiver will not tighten down, this thing is louder than a 22 cal. rifle, when you shoot it, so don`t count on a second shot. The first trip to the range to line it in after only 20 yo 25 shots the serving on the string broke where the arrow sets. I sent BARNETT an email and they will not respond back. This is only me talking BUT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BARNETT PRODUCT NO WILL I HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THEM."

"I just came back from the range today and was less than impressed with this crossbow. I recieved it for x-mas and this is the first time I had a chance to use it. First of all the screw for the quiver mount was too long and would not tighten enough to snug the quiver mount. The front sling stud is actually blocked by the first two bolts when the quiver is on. So I guess I will have to use my pack quiver if I want to use a sling. To top things off on the third shot the string disintigrated. So I guess a call to Barnett is in order."

"My 1st order from Cabela's was for the same bow with a red dot scope. Bow was damaged in shipment and out of stock. Cabela's took it back and sent a next best replacement, no questions asked. Great company!!!!!!!! I got the rect. scope on the replacement order. Don't need to wory about a dead battery. I like it better. There are not many bows in this price range with the same features. Only neg. is overall weight, its heavy but that also helps accuracy. I am hunting from a stand so weight is not a big issue with me. The screw for the quiver is too long also. Will not get the quiver tight. Seveal reviews have talked about trigger travel. I don't think it's a problem. You will spend another $300 for a model with a great trigger. Get the rope cocker. It's so easy. Takes 50% off cocking pull. You won't be disipointed. Plano is the only bow case that fits. Overall, good buy for the money. I would buy it again."

"I just received my AVI Revlolution last week. It was simple to put together however you may need to add a couple of washers to the quiver mount if the screw is a little too long which mine was. After putting the bow together I had it sighted in at 20 yards in about 8 shots.
This bow is extremely fast, accurate, and drives the bolts deep. 125 grain field points seem to be a little more accurate and drive the bolts alot deeper than 100 grain points.
Drawbacks: The bow is a little heavy, there is a lot of travel in the trigger before you hit the wall, and it is still pretty loud even with the dampening material on the limbs. I added string silencers and it took away a good bit of the vibration and noise from the string. Adding a crossbow silencer kit which I plan to do should quiet it down some more.
I researched crossbows in the $500 range for weeks trying to decide which one to buy. I am happy with the choice I made."
