"I purchased this NVD for use at my lease on hogs that have gone nocturnal. This is my 3rd Gen 2 scope purchase and I am extremely happy. Picatinny rail mount that came with the scope attached directly to the forward rail on my rifle and perfectly indexed the ACOG sight. Since it sits in front of the day-time optics, it makes it simple to go day/night capable in about 20 seconds. Handles the recoil of the .308 with no issues. Personal opinion is to ditch the IR-Illuminator that comes with the scope and buy and ELR-Illuminator. With an ELR-VF light, i can clearly make out a hog up to 200 yrds away on a moonless no-ambient light night."

"Works great! Attaches to scope in seconds, you don't loose your zero, and you are ready for night varmint hunting. I would give this 5 stars, but the manual is a bit light on instructions, and if you have a low mounted scope the front of the night vision scope could interfere with the barrel, so remounting the day scope with higher rings might be necessary. I bought the gen2+ version and do not regret it! Also, you need to push BOTH buttons on the IR illuminator to get it to turn on - didn't see that in the instruction book and spent several minutes thinking it didn't turn on.
