"I have used my gamesaver, just about every weekend, vacuum sealing freshly caught fish. Its just started to not seal and I think the reason is the heating strip is at fault. I do believe I got my money's worth, so I am ordering a second gamesaver. I have had the less expensive ones, but this model is best. The motor is more powerful and the vacuum pump is better than the others. The other sealers would not seal after 6 or 7 bags, and I would have to wait for 30 minutes or so before it would seal again. But I have no problems with the gamesaver. In fact, one day, I did nearly 30 bags without failure. Each bag had about 5 pounds of filleted fish: Mahimahi, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna. It did a great job. But there are rules you have to follow in order to enjoy the success I have had: (1) keep the gamesaver clean. Especially the seals. The rubber seals do come off. Gently wash in warm soapy water, and dry. (2) Prep the fish. When you catch a Wahoo, Mahimahi, or Tuna, you must immediately bleed the fish. Stick a long knife into the chin just forward of the pectoral fins. The heart is located there and you will cut the arteries. This very important especially when dealing with a tuna. (3) After you have filleted the fish and have cut it into 3 to 5 pound pieces, make sure that there are no bones. Bones will pierce the bag and it will not seal. I have given away fish that was caught six months before and if properly sealed, it tastes as fresh as it was caught yesterday. Caution, this does not apply to Yellowfin Tuna, if you want sashimi quality."

"Save your money. This is the second one I've owned. The first one lasted well over 10 years and finally wore our. I received the second one last Christmas and after using it four times it has started to fail. It will do one or two seals and then it quits vacuuming. After it has been unplugged for several minutes it will seal one bag. After that it would have to sit for over an hour before it would work again. Now it has completely quit working altogether. A friend has one that he bought about the same time and has the same issues."

"Save your money. Do not buy this item. I just threw away my second one after less than 6 months of service. I thought the first one I owned was just defective after it malfuntioned after one year. I decided to try another one but it now will not shut off automatically as it should and at times it shuts down after one or two sealings. Not worth the price!!!"

"I purchased this vacuum sealer online after Christmas using some gift cards. It was shipped a week earlier then the email told me I would get it. When I plugged it in and tried to seal something, it sounded like it was working, but was not sucking any of the air out. After multiple times trying, it became apparent it didn't work. I live about an hour and a half from a Cabela's, so I decided that the next night I would just drive down there and exchange it.
The people at Cabela's were so great with the exchange. They asked no questions and refunded my money. Then I went to get a new one and wanted to test it first. The young man working helped me find a plug in and let me open it and make sure it worked. Which it worked like a charm and has since. I am very happy with this vacuum sealer and would recommend it to anyone."

"I like many of the other foodsaver users, I had great success with it in the beginning. I used it about a total of 20 times and then the pump and sealer went out on it. I talked to foodsaver themselves and there was nothing they would do about it due to the "Limited Warranty" not covering anything. Thanks to Cabelas they were willing to do an even trade for a brand new one, however, I have no faith in Foodsaver and will never buy another one. We will see how long this one lasts!"

"FoodSaver/ GameSaver Turbo is very useful especially for the fishermans like me. During the fishing trip I can save the fish at freezer for the comeing use.

"We bought one for Christmas for ourselves. It worked for a few weeks and then the sealer went out. It was great when it was working but it didn't last very long. At the time it pooped out we had bought lots of meat to seal & freeze. We had to replace immediately and thought maybe we just got a lemon so we ordered another one. This worked great in the beginning and did last a few more weeks then the first one. We are done with this product!!!!! I would give this product 0 stars but I was not given the option. We would like to get the Cabela's model but it does not have the bag cutter."

"I am a proffesional chef and wanted something for home that I could use to package gourmet foods for backpacking and hunting trips. No cumbersome tupperware containers to leak. I pre-marinate chicken, pork tenderloiins, steaks, etc. then vacuum seal them and pack them frozen. By the time they thaw, I'm grilling over a campfire!
