"I AM A PARAMEDIC AND A RESERVE DEPUTY AND I RECEIVED THE 9V FLASHLIGHT LAST YEAR FOR CHRISTMAS. BECAUSE I NORMALLY WORK DAY SHIFT THE LIGHT HAS ONLY BEEN USED ABOUT 10 TIMES AND THEN ONLY VERY BRIEFLY. LAST WEEK THE LIGHT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS ON DUTY. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER THE LIGHT BECAME VERY, VERY HOT AND THE BATTERIES HAD TO BE REMOVED. I PLACED NEW BATTERIES IN THE LIGHT AND IT IMMEDIATLY BEGAN TO GET HOT AGAIN. GLAD IT WAS NOT IN A DRAWER OR GLOVE COMPARTMENT WHEN IT SHORTED OUT. CABELA'S IS GIONG TO REPLACE IT BUT I WILL BE VERY LEARY OF THE NEW ONE. IT WAS A VERY BRIGHT LIGHT AND A GREAT PRICE BUT NOT A "DUTY" FLASHLIGHT BY ANY MEANS."

"My girlfriend bought me the 6-volt light in the combo set with the knife, which was an awesome deal! The flashlight is very bright and is very well constructed. Battery life is not great but all things considered its ok. I bought my Dad and Grandpa each one and they absolutely love them. Overall none of us have had any problems with the lights and they have worked great for us in the field."

"Light is very bright, overall construction good. Switch location needs to be redesigned. If the light is hooked onto your belt, sitting can activate the push button on the end. I used this light 20-25 times for a few minutes and the light bulb is already burned out. On line chat suggested I purchase a new bulb, I will call customer service and see if they can replace it."

"I bought this so I would always have a flashlight close to me on my belt. Working with computers, telephone, and satellite installations you are constantly needing quick illumination in dark places. It is a fantastic flashlight. My only problem with it is the case. I had to add a rubber band to the flashlight just under the light head casing to keep it from sliding down to the bottom of the belt holder and sticking out way too far. But that's not a bad thing because who knows when you may need a rubber band!?! I'm very happy with it in general. It was exactly what I was wanting. I'd recommend it for anyone who needs a quality flashlight. I got about 7 months of battery life from mine before I had to get new batteries. I was very pleased with that too. Very good, very high quality item."

"I purchased this light while visiting the Glendale, Arizona store two years ago and it has not let me down. The light originally had a problem with the switch, but it was corrected when I got a replacement at the store the same day. For the price, this light cannot be beat in terms of power and overall quality. The machine finish appears comparable to more expensive makes of similar size. Also, the 120 lumens rating is great when you consider that most other flashlights would cost much more at the same light output.
After nearly two years of use I am still using the same bulb and the tail switch still works perfectly. I recently purchased the performance head and it makes this light considerably brighter. I also own a few other xenon flashlights, including some made by streamlight and this is still my light of choice. I recommend stocking up on CR123 batteries because they will go quickly, but well worth the extra added light output and conveniance of use. I use this light primarily for camping and it is great to have the brighter light when you need to see longer distances in the dark. This is a great light for the price."

"It is a very bright light. It came with a warning not to burn it for more than 10 minutes a time due to bulb getting very hot. I bought it to carry on my belt. It is too easy to accidently turn it on while carrying on the belt due to on/off switch being on bottom. On the very first day I carried it, it accidently was turned on and the bulb melted a hole in the holster cover without me knowing it was on. The nylon holster melts to a black goo in the area over the bulb. It has happened several times since and I quite carrying it as the battery was dead when I needed it. The on/off switch needs to be made different."

"Wow. This is my 3rd light that's been replaced graciously by Cabela's. Either the bulb fitting falls apart, or the battery spring has problems.
It's an awesome flashlight if you not using it in a heavy-duty setting where it might get dropped or bumped....."

"The first time I used the light I was walking out after dark from my bowhunting stand. I was thinking to myself how bright the light was and how happy I was with it. About that time, it went out. After ribbing from my buddy, and mooching off his light to get back to the truck, I discovered the bulb had fallen out. When I got home and was able to check it out, it seems the bulb was defective and one of the prongs broke. I called Cabelas and explained, and of course they said ship it back, no problem. A few days later a new one showed up. I used it last weekend with no problems. Very bright light (brighter than my 100 dollar Browning). Great price and as always Cabelas stands behind their products. If this one doesn't have the bulb fall out, it will be a 5 star. I would buy another, I think I just got a bum bulb."

"Best bang for the buck as far as flashlights go. Thes lights are the same as s...fire and 10 - 20 bucks less. I have cariied one on my belt for the last 2 yrs and it has never let me down!! Recentely ordered another for my ar-15 and it has proved capable of handling any recoil as well as providing more than enough light to shoot at 50 yds in complete darkness."

BUT YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE BATTRIES when you first get it the ones that come with the light will not last, and when you order new battries, the light takes 3 of them, the package only comes in 2's ?????? making you buy three packages of battries so you have enough on a hunt."

"I used the flashlight a handful of times. It is a great light source and is incredibly bright, I loved it... until it broke. The switch was a tad finicky out of the box, but after some light use it eventually failed. I now have a useless hunk of metal. I expected a tough and reliable product from Cabela's, but I see that is not necessarily true."

"I have used a lot of brand name flashlights. I saw the Cabelas one and decided to try it after not having luck with a browning light. I ordered the 6V and it broke or should I say stopped working within a month or two. i was unable to return it so I thought it was just a fluke. Cabelas has never dissapointed. I ordered the 9V and was even more disapointed. I was in iraq and the flashlight didnt work coming out of the package. After a few days of tinkering with it, I got it to work. the flashlight was very fussy and would turn off randomly for no reason. The birghtness was great but overall quality was junk. I would drop it from less than a foot and it would turn off and I would have a very ahrd time trying to get it to work. This is the only cabelas product I WOULD NOT recomend."

"Its a great light for short periods of use. Batteries dont last too long but it is deffinatly bright. Produces a fare amount of heat also, but not enough to cause discomfort. 3 stars for battery life, 5+ for amount of light output. 4 stars for quality considering I had to replace the bulb after one year and I dint use it that much. If light output is your main consern this is defitatly your honey."
