"I bought a couple of these last year and never had a reason to use one since til I was driving home from a WSU football game and came across a SUV in the ditch. I was the first one on the scene and immediately Grabbed my home made first aid kit and bushed to assist. The guy had fallen asleep at the wheel and gone off the road and ended up rolling his vehicle 4 to 5 times. He was bleeding Profusely from a laceration on his left arm. I quickly got my large QuikClot out and placed it on his arm and instructed him to keep pressure on it so he would focus and stay awake. Upon the arrival of the paramedics they took a look at his arm peeled the sponge back then put it right back and wrapped it in place. It wasn't an exactly life threatening situation but it felt good to be prepared with the right equipment for the job. I ran out and bought more right away!"

Stopped a bleeding head wound quickly,September 9, 2009

"After watching an NHL player get a cut neck and almost dying, I purchased four of the Quik-clots and donated one to my son's hockey trainer. She was tending an injured ankle behind the boards when the gate was thrown open and the lock mechanism smacked her on the top of the head. After using up two hand towels to try and stop the flow with pressure alone, the assistant trainer ripped open the Quik-clot and pressed it on her scalp right on the "bleeder". One minute later the flow stoped and we could see into the cut. Worked far better than I had imagined. I now keep two in each car, one at the cottage, and one in the back-country kit. Check out tests of Quik-clot at a Army medical hospital on-line and you'll be convinced. Easily worth the cash and Cabela's delivers right to your door. Highly recommended."

"Be Careful with this product. I am a Tactical paramedic and have a lot of use and training with this product and hemorrhage in general. With the right training and being able to itendify life threatening bleeding this product is great. However, 90% of bleeding can be stopped with pressure alone. So with that said please don't use this on any simple cut or wound. You or your friend had better be bleeding out rapidly for this to be used. Do a little research and look at the side effects to skin and tissue around the area. Just some adivse from a user of the product."

"I Archery hunt, in a High-Bear area. We use this stuff in the Army and it saves lives. Why would I not have some in my pack? I brief my hunting buddies an how to use it. Don't know if you need the Silver version, unless you could not get to a doctor for several days. I pack anti-biotics just in case, so I'm happy with the plain version. I will always have some, and will always hope I never need it. However, accidents do happen."

"This is a must item for all people whether indoors or out. Shooters especially. My only complaint is the relatively high price per item, and a lack of various types of product available. I plan to buy more in the future to place them in each of our cars, in the fishing and hunting boxes, kitchen and bathrooms too. "As our outdoors brother from New Orleans mentioned earlier; if you are under coagulation therepy such as as aspirin, warfarin, cumiden, etc. you truly need this product. I am one of the "unlucky" folks who need blood thinning products (which is what rat poison is made of) and when you get cut, bleeding is very difficult to stop. Quick Clot is a great product. I carry various sizes, small ones in my everyday carry pack, mediums in my survival kit, and large ones in omy truck mounted first aid kit. Anyone can use this product. There is no special training required and yes, this is a "civilian" version of the military unit. Bleeding from the head/face area is difficult enough to control on your own, but adding warfarin or aspirin magnifies the problem, so during a cut to my head, and after duct tape and super glue failed (another friend of warfarin users) I applied QuickClot and the flow stopped. get some today. Quikclot Sport Silver(25g sponge) works Fast,May 7, 2008

"At a pool party, the kids were going back and forth from the pool to the kitchen. Between the running and wet floor.... we had a non-life threatening bleeding accident. Bottomline: The mother and I used it on a 9yr old girl with a jawline cut to-the-bone. The mother was an EMT and was applying pressure and elevation on the petrified child.... however the bleeding was not stopping.
After application of the Sponge, the Bleeding stopped on contact.
Once the bleeding stopped, we removed the sponge, the wound was clean! No scab, no mess, no issues. Sent the Parents to the ER and a 6-hour wait. During the ER wait, bleeding started again due to girl's moving around. The parents re-applied the QC Sponge. It stopped bleeding on contact again. Amazing Stuff! Good to see it works as advertised. I followed up for a few weeks after. No infection & no ill-effects. Good healing."
