Works Excellent,November 28, 2009
By 3Jarsfrom Warsaw, IN
"I went on a late fall fishing trip in Canada this past fall, found out at the US/Canada border we had to dump our live leeches out. All we had for bait was worms and Berkley Gulp Alive Leechs they worked better than worms half the time. I caught 4 walleye on one leeche before I had to throw it away because it was in pieces. The product worked awesome for me!"

Worked Like a Charm!,July 6, 2009
By Wild4Colofrom Colorado Springs, CO
"We took both 3" and 5" artificial leeches on a Canada fishing trip. We noticed no difference in catch rate for walleye or northern pike between use of real leeches and the 3" or 5" leeches. The 5" and real leeches seemed to have better action in the water then did the 3" leeches but again no discernible difference in catch rate. The Berkley Gulp leeches also seemed to last longer on the hook through multiple catches than did the real leeches."

Berkley Gulp Alive Leach Bucket quart,June 27, 2009
By winedog
"Not very impressed with product. Recent trip to Canada only produced a few pan fish. Did not out produce live leeches. They did not stay on the hook as long as I thought they would when tossing and working jigs had several come off as if using the real thing (even hooked as per instructions through the sucker opening on bait several samples did not even have the sucker hole on them). Fished them with jigs as mentioned, Lindy rigged drift fishing, did not seem to have a very good live action very unnatural look to them in the water as compared to the real thing. I must note the real leach did not catch many fish either on this trip but the artificial bait did not enhance fish bite. Other plastics did however work producing a 5 3/4 and 3 1/2 lb walleyes others caught on real crawlers. Will continue to try as season progresses hoping to see better results."

Live Bait works way better,May 31, 2009
By TroutCrappieWalleyeLover
"Went Walleye fishing in northwest Iowa and decided to use the Berkley Gulp Alive Leeches. My dad could see right through these baits and decided to use live bait. Using this bait was just a waste of time as my dad pulled in ten nice sized Walleyes with live bait and I ended up getting skunked with the Gulp until i ended up switching to live bait and caught 3 nice Walleyes with the live bait.
Gulp: 0 Walleyes Live Bait: 13 Walleyes"

DO catch fish.,April 3, 2009
By olpappyfrom Hammond,Indiana
"Well they do catch fish. We used both real leeches and the berkley.Caught more on live bait BUT the berkley bait did catch fish. Caught walleye, catfish, and a big bluegill with berkley leech. They are pretty tough, and caught a few fish before they fall off. Good for back-up bait, easy to keep on boat. But I couldnt afford to use all the time. Be nice if they would come down in price or sell dry bait refills that you can charge in the juice for cheap.Overall I would buy again, they are convenient to keep on boat, and catch fish."

Great Walleye Lure,August 25, 2008
By IAMuskieFanfrom Central Iowa
"Just returned from Eagle Lake in NW Ontario. Real leeches were in short supply (as usual in August) so we thought we'd "make do" with these. They outfished 3" golden shiners and lasted longer on the hook than real leeches, but didn't seem to lack any attractive power, even after several catches. They are long enough to embed both the first and second hook (or stinger) of a Lindy-style or spinner rig. I recommend both. We caught more walleyes on this trip than we've ever caught before, including several "slot" fish that were released."

Awesome bait,August 21, 2008
By Halvofrom Grayslake, IL
"The "smallies" loved these in Phelps, Wisconsin. The Gulp Alive seemed to tear a little easier than the regular Gulp...but I could be wrong. I was still able to catch up to 5 fish on 1 leech."

Good stuff,July 21, 2008
By chpjfrom Rochester, MN
"Works well. Used in Canadian Shield lakes and when combined with a jig will produce plenty of strikes, even during a soft bite. Just needed to make sure to be patient when getting soft hits or hook up ratio is low or can even rip off. Very durable and can return to bucket if in good shape and no need to worry about refrigeration."

"caught fish--not as good as live bait--throws off hook easily--was outfished by nightwalker worms in delaware river--a little bit pricy"
