"I was getting skunked off the regular berkely dough and salmon eggs. Decided to try out the chunky cheese dough. I barely wated 10 seconds till I saw the bobber go down. Caught a 8inch rainbow but that was about it. I guess they knew what it was? I casted around 8pm so it was getting dark out. Will try it on sat morning and see how it performs. I caught nothing on the rainbow candy. I will also try that one on sat morning."

"Used this bait at Lake Cuyamaca,the water is stained and they recommend using scent on everything. I used this bait without any extra scent added and caught 8 trout, it is a little soft and you need to mold it on the hook."

"I can't rave enough about how effective Berkley Gulp! Trout Dough performs. Since switching from PowerBait to Gulp!, I've caught more fish than ever. It gives you a distinct advantage over finicky trout and outperforms live bait and artificial lures, in my humble opinion. Orange worked best for me this year, but other years different color and combinations have worked well too. Hatchery trout love this stuff!"

"This stuff outfishes any other dough bait on the market, hands down. I've had days where I was tossing powerbait extra scent or power bait turbo and not getting hits. I would throw the gulp in the same color and whack! get bit. It stays on the hook and fish really really like it. It's worth every penny and should be part of any trout fisherman's arsenal. It's definitely one of my secret weapons."

"I normally fish the Highway 88 corridor in Northern California. Looking through the Cabela's 2008 Master Fishing Catalog I discovered Berekley Gulp Trout Bait. So I bought a jar of Orange Pulp, just to see how it worked. The first time I used it, I was giving small amounts to other fisherman because I was the only one catching anything. Used most of the jar and everyone went home with a limit. Bought four more jars in that color and three others. Last time I was fishing, about 2 weeks ago, I caught fish on all four of those colors. This stuff is awesome. Those out there that aren't able to keep it on the hook, I suggest using a #16 or #14 gold treble hook. It stays on there fine. I use a sliding sinker rig with 18" of Fluorocarbon leader and a gold treble hook. Good fishing to all."

"I read the reviews two weeks ago and did not have time to order by mail. Searched all over my town and finally found two jars. Was worth the effort in the smiles and joy seen from the friends whom I went fishing with. Was a little bit of a pain when everyone around us each day, had to know what the heck we were using. Many wanted to borrow or buy a little!!! Ended up just saying it was Berkley trout dough and left it at that. Would agree that did not stay on hooks well, and noticed much faster deterioration of this situation as the days went on, even with jars protected and kept out of direct sunlight. Huge difference as I have many jars of PowerBait from one to three years old and still seem as strong and hookable as almost new! Do plan on trying to write Berkley about it cause bait is so awesome will bet that they will fix this. Also agree with other reviewers in the fact that the merits of this new Gulp far outweigh all else! Plus did find if you take a little extra time molding bait until it dries a bit... seems to make a big difference. "Tight Lines and Good Fishing" to all... and this bait will DO THAT FOR YOU!!!"

"I fish for trout a lot in the best known streams in new york. This product is great I fish with almost any type of bait and this works way more than anything else i have ever used. I see people all the time when im fishing and im usually the only one catching fish. I use the dough with a half worm and a small piece of dough on top of the hook and it works AMAZING. The only knock is the dough does not stay on all that well but who cares the way this works!"

"First outing I caught three brook trout in just under thirty minutes, all were over 12". Others were struggling for fish. The only knock on the product is that it does not stay on the hook nearly a well as the original Powerbait."

"this is the best dough bait i ever used for trout fishing.they say on the jar that you get 55% more strikes. they are totally right. since using this bait i havent been skunked . i mostly use the rainbow candy,but the chunky cheese works good too. i use a sliding sinker with a 18" to 24" 4 lb test leader & a small treble hook."

"I've tried every style of dough Berkley makes, and this is the best hands down! I've used the Chunky Chartreuse, Chunky Cheese and Marshmallow Cluster. I've had equal results with all.....FULL STRINGERS! You don't need to dip this dough, but if you do, use the Berkley Corn Dip. I spend most of my time at Irvine Lake, in Southern California, and the best set up here is an 18" 2lb. leader, a #16 treble, and roll this dough to resemble a worm. Try this, and you'll be killing em' in no time! This dough is a little more money, but what's another $1.50 if you're wackin' more fish! Just got a jar of the Sherbet Burst, can't wait to try it at the Trout Opener in 2 weeks!"
