Its a step up,

"Purchased a 3/4 zip last year for cold hunting in the south. I wore the top alone walking in to the stand in 20 degree weather and it was sufficient. The big difference with this product is there is a much reduced tendancy for chaffing - that rubbed raw feeling on some parts of the body. This year I'm off to WY and purchased 4 more for the cold 5-10 degree nights and will be glad to have them. The product is designed for layering so it works very well with a pocket style shirt (holding heat warmers) and wool sweater/over jacket. The zip allows you to open up the shirt and to let more heat out when needed and in my opinion makes this purchase that much more versatile. I did purchase a size larger than normal to allow for more room and some shrinkage. The material of this type always seems to draw up in the dryer. Be sure to use low heat to delay the shrink otherwise, you'll be passing it down to your kids before your ready to give it up."

Cool Shirt,
May 21, 2009
By manforan

"Went for a bike ride in cool temps. The shirt kept me warm from the wind chill as the evening breeze flew over me. Then the hills came and sweat and the shirt breathed to keep me dry. Then came the descent the wind whistled as my speed went up. The shirt shed the wind and I stayed warm..... Great shirt. I can't wait for a winter run in it......"

Warmth and Comfort,

"I like this garment because it is light weight, yet warm. Its sleeve length is just right, as is its length to the waist. It is thin and gives full range of movement. I like the quarter zip because it vents well and does not chaff the neck when zipped all the way up."

Warm, but no good for hunting.,

"Here you have a camo shirt that would be awesome for early season box hunting, but it has the athletic reflective tape down both sides of the zipper. It's like a neon sign saying, "What's up, I'm a hunter." I am a very loyal fan of UA gear and I have never been unsatisfied with the quality. This product would be great for being outdoors if you don't care about being concealed. But if you are a hunter, look elsewhere."

Cool not Cold Gear!,

"This would work good for fall football use but does not measure up for winter! It needs additional layers underneath to measure up to my (Snowmobile mfg.) turtle neck undershirt and covering. It left me feeling chilled right away."

Mock Zip-T with ArmourBloc,
March 10, 2008
By hubocaf

"I may not be judging this product correctly. I ordered twice and returned both times because of the fit. I'm 6'-5", 240 lbs. i asume the product has to fit snugly to perform in that it attracts moisture from the body and dissapates the moisture to the environment. i was looking for an underlayer that would allow me to moderate my body temperature when hunting, therefore the zip mock-T; left open when working my way to the stand or dragging a kill from the woods then zipping up the neck when stationary. I tried an XXL to get the length I needed, it was way too big through the torso. I reordered an XL. It was a little on the short side and still way too big through the torso. The neck was large too, I'm a 17 neck. Am I correct that the garment needs to fit snugly to perform ?"

Reflective camo on Mock Zip-T,

"Shirt performs as advertised. Problem is that reflective tape is showing next to zipper, which defeats having a camo shirt for turkey hunting. I will try black magic marker to cover the basting,(tape)."

Under Armour Cold-Gear,
February 13, 2008
By Robin4854

"I was working on the water in cold weather and needed something that would help me stay warm through the day. I ordered the Under Armour shirt, pants, socks, gloves, and headgear. All of this was a little under $200. I received the package, opened it, and almost returned it. I was very dissapointed to see what I had purchased was so thin I knew it would not work. I was in need of some thermal underwear and decided to keep them. That was the best buy I have made in a very long time!!!! I do not have any idea how they work, but they do and I would recommend them to anyone that is in need of a good pair of state of the art long-handles. When I order more I will order my regular sizes. I had read in the comments that you need to order larger sizes than normal and I found that not to be the case with mine. When I finally do wear these out, I will be ordering more of the same. I was very comfortably warm while everyone else was complaining of being cold.....and they had a much thicker outfit on that I did. Bottom line; these are very good products!"

Under Armour Cold Gear,
January 16, 2008
By elkgut
|
"I wore the under armour cold gear in 4 degree weather with a brisk wind. We were elk hunting in waist deep snow and although I did sweat I never felt even damp. We did make a kill and while skinning and boning the animal we did cool down but I never got cold. With the wind the chill factor had to be way below zero. I was very impressed with the under armour."
