A newly designed muzzle end on the Whisper decreases sound by approximately 52% without sacrificing performance
or accuracy. It shoots PBA ammo at 1,200 fps (50 rounds included) and comes equipped with both Truglo® sights
and a 3-9x40mm scope (mount included). The synthetic stock is textured on the grip and has an ambidextrous
cheekpiece. Rubber recoil pad. Cocking effort: 30 lbs. Overall length: 45-3/4".
Weight: 6.8 lbs. To get maximum results from the sound reducing features of the Whisper models, lead pellets should be used. The included PBA ammo will result in higher speeds and will be quieter than when fired from standard models. However, it will still produce a cracking sound due to to the pellet traveling at supersonic speeds in .177 caliber.
ATTENTION: Residents of MI, NY, NJ, IL, MA, DE and OH please check your local
laws for restrictions before ordering any air rifles or air pistols.

"I LOVE THE WHISPER!!!!!! It is a very accurate and powerful gun. Where I hunt for small game there is houses around me and the whisper is silent and the neighbors don't know in there. I have killed squirles and rabbits with it. I would recommend this gun to anybody that has a small game problem or just wants a fun gun to shoot."

"I had a Chinese HV Air Rifle. It was horribly inacurate. The Gamo Whisper is everything the Chinese Airgun was not; light, acurate, relatively quiet, easy to load and well made."

Wonderful Air Rifle,July 14, 2009
By Danajatefrom Rockford, MN
"I ordered this air rifle as a replacement to my RWS Diana Model 34 rifle. The Gamo Whisper blows the doors off of the RWS in my opinion. It is extremely accurate and solidly built. The scope that came with it is of reasonable quality and was very easy to zero. This rifle has served me very well for varmint control arround my property."

"I really like this gun. I have killed lots of birds and other things with it. My only problem would be that when u shoot it the little bit of spring recoil makes the scope slide backwards. Other than that it is great!"

Good or bad?,February 12, 2009
By CaseyUfrom Northern California
"Heres my, My brother and I each bought one just do some work on some ground squirrels on the ranch. I don't know why we bought the whispers, i guess sold by the "shoots quiet" well it does shoot quiet with the right ammo, I shot about 1500 pellets out of mine and went through two pair of rings and they just kept sliding back no matter what i did, Cabelas was nice enough to refund my money, yet my brothers can group 1.5" with five shots at 35 yards? so it's a gamble. I bought a RWS 350 and you get what you pay for with air rifles! if you want to take a chance with it go for it, otherwise save the hassle! Get something else!"

Gamo Whisper,December 29, 2008
By Savage222
"I bought this rifle about a week ago and i have already had three full days in the field with it... and i do mean three full days. (about six hours per day.) I bought this rifle for varmints of all kinds, and birds that destroy my family's crops. This rifle has not failed me once. It is extremely accurate and hard-hitting, all packed into a super light weight weapon. I was shooting along side two RWS pellet guns (over $600 a piece) and my Gamo Whisper was just as good in all areas and sometimes better. I must note that PBA ammo, although fast, was horribly inaccurate and i prefer beeman lead ammo. I have read many reviews complaining about the Gamo 3-9x scope, however i really like it and have no complaints at all. My only complaint with the Gamo Whisper is that it really isnt that quiet, with all of its incredible features i dont know why that one is the most marketed trait. Overall this is an incredible gun and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a good deal on a great rifle. i chose to give it a 4 rating because nothing is perfect."

Whisper tweaking!,December 24, 2008
By Bulletbfmc66from Cabot Arkansas
"I have read many bad reviews on the Whispher from this site, I too felt the same way as many of you when I first purchased the Whisper. However after being patient and studying each issue I have been able to correct them all with no money out of my pocket. First off is the accuracy issue, this is a two part problem with the Whisper. The scope needs to be securely fastened to the gun. This thing has a lot of spring recoil causing the scope to move backward. Be sure the locking pin is screwed down through the rear hole already drill in the mount. This will correct this issue (I had to shim up the hole to get it tight). Next locktight all the screws holding the scope to the gun and torque them down real good. The next issue is ammo. This thing is picky and each rifle is different. I went through 4 kinds of pellets before I found one that works well. I am using heavy grain hollow points. They are heavy so they increase stability. After getting these things worked out I can hit a squirrel in the head at 30 yards with no problem. I have yet to miss anything I shoot at. As far as noise it is only loud shooting light ammo that breaks the sound bearier causing a load crack much like a 22 rifle. Use a heavy hunting pellet and the gun is only loud to the person shooting it."

Powerful yes, accurate no!,October 8, 2008
By shootstraight101from West
"I can't get any consistency with this model. I sent back the first because I couldn't get a group better than 4" at 30 feet. It was replaced with a model that would group much better but 2 out of the 5 shots would fly wildly. When shooting varmints I never knew where the pellet was heading. I tried 2 or 3 types of pellets some were better than others and also shot it with open sights with no better results. The PBA ammo was consistently the worst. There's gotta be a better Air Rifle for the money out there."

Gammo Whisper Review,October 7, 2008
By GamoReview
"I purchased this gun from Cabelas. The reviews on the Cabelas website were less than positive, but based on the reviews at the Gammo site I had to try it. I elected to purchase a combo pack of four different styles of Gammo .177 lead pellets. The scope was easy to mount. From my first shot I was very disappointed by the length of trigger pull and the break of the trigger as well. Not to be deterred, I adjusted the trigger per the manual to reduce the length of pull, this only helped marginally. This gun will shoot straight off a bench, but it is very difficult to shoot accurately off had, prone, etc. due to this trigger. The muzzle brake does dampen the sound. I will be returning this gun."

Scope or Not,October 6, 2008

"The ad implied the scope would be on the weapon when delivered - NOT! Otherwise it is an expensive toy that needed the scope mounted. For the money paid for an air rifle, this one is high dollar, and still makes plenty of noise."

Gamo Whisper .177-caliber Air Rifle Combo,September 9, 2008
By Whitebeard42from Eagan, MN
"I got this rifle as a 2nd option for taking care of rabbits. I have an old Crossman with a laser sight that is a tack driver but it doesn't work in the bright light. This rifle is NOT a tack driver. I mounted the scope and hit the paper at 10 yds but it was shooting about 3" low. After many shots and some major cranking on the elevation, I got it to group well. Then I moved it out to 30 yds and can only get it to shoot 2" high. That's OK for my purposes but I wouldn't recommend it for serious shooting. Also the trigger takes some getting used to. Even after adjusting, there is a lot of creep."

Good Pellet Gun,July 28, 2008
By newhunterinSVfrom San Jose, CA
"Got the Gamo Whisper rifle mainly to take care of coyotes and other varmints on my property, so needed something with high FPS velocity to penetrate and kill clean. I took the gun with the PBA ammo and tested it out on a target box loaded with packing material to test the penetrating ability. The PBA Raptor ammo is loud, even with the silencer, but at 1200 FPS, that should be expected. Still, "loud" is not too bad, as any nearby neighbors would still be miffed to know what that sound was they just heard. It's nothing that'll get them curious. The PBA Raptor ammo does the job, I had it sighted in to a 3" circle with the scope attached and calibrated in about 5 shots at about 50 feet away. As for penetrating power, it definitely cut through several inches of dense paper packing material. Get a clean lung or skull shot on a coyote, and this will put him down. Unfortunately, with the long reload time to cock the arm and load a pellet, one shot is all you'll get on an animal.
I later put up some more targets and used lead pellets which will travel slower, around 1000 fps. I put about 50 rounds through it at ranges from 50 to 80 ft or so, I didn't actually measure off the distance. The drop off isn't as much as I was expecting with lead pellets, only about 1" at around 80 ft. Firing is quite consistent within a 5" spread at those ranges, and firing offhand, so the gun's pretty accurate for my novice shooting ability. It's actually a good starter gun, I was able to teach my wife to use it, who's never handled a gun in her life. She was able to get comfortable with it and was within 4" circle at about 50 ft with it. Notables: -Good weight and balance, easy to shoot offhand -Hard cocking arm (too much for my wife to pull) -Scope included is good quality -Trigger pull is a bit too long -Good with PBA Raptor and lead flathead pellets -Pretty silent with lead pellets, louder with PBA Raptor but still not bad noise level if you've got some trees around to absorb noise. -no shoulder harness attachments is a drawback"

Very Disappointing,June 27, 2008
By KansasCookfrom Eastern Kansas
"I just finished reading the first 36 reviews and see quite an inconsistency. Unfortunately, my experience mirrors most of the negative comments. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I used a full package of pellets and was never able to get a stable pattern. I thought it might be "operator error" so I had one of the best shooters at our gun club try it and he had the same results. I think the quality is inconsistent on the scopes from one to the next. There is also some validity to the comment about the scope being mounted on the receiver instead of the barrel. I am returning my gun and may exchange it for one more before giving up. The concept is good, but the product is not."

Scope,June 23, 2008
By Bohdanfrom VA
"With the scope the airrifle is rather heavy. The instructions how to adjust the riflescope are not simple. The scope I have received don't have distance scale (50-100-200)like on the drawing. It is confusing.. The rifle makes unpleasent noise when the trigger is being released. I have removed the scope and without it have better target's results."
