"This vest is a great value. It is well made and very comfortable. I also like its styling; it works well for any casual situation, and its rugged construction should hold up under moderate working conditions.
Note, however, that I had to order one size up for a proper fit. I almost always take an XL; but in this vest the XL was skin tight and restricted my movement too much. I suggest others may want to also order up in size."

"I wear a large, but ordered this vest in a XLARGE. Range of motion is important to me, and I like to wear a sweatshirt underneath. Very comfortable and the inside pockets come in handy."

"I'm actually wearing this vest as I type this. I have a farm and this is perfect for doing active work when the weather is cold. Plenty of arm movement and your body keeps warm. The canvas shell is plenty tough and the vest looks good and I'm happy to wear it to town.
Hadn't mentioned to the wife that I had a Cabelas order arrive. She found the vest and saw that it fitted her. She mistakenly thought I had purchase it for her and her lip dropped when I took it back. Subsequently another order to Cableas is on the way so as peace can be kept in the household."

"I purchased the Carhartt Sandstone Rugged Vest as a Christmas gift for my brother-in-law who works for Southern California Edison. He works around the clock and even in Southern California it gets very cold at times. He thanked me for the vest and said it keeps him very warm while he is out in the wind, rain, and cold weather fixing power lines for his customers."

"I like this vest but have 2 complaints. The fleece does not extend all the way down the tail of the vest but stops and inch or 2 short. Also the zipper is not the beefy zipper I enjoy with my other 2 Carhartt coats. I get the feeling that I could rip it out if it binds when I lean over. Other than that it is just OK."
