"Nice to have a vest with many pockets and places for electronics. Others complained of vest being heavy - it is heavier than my other vest, but I don't see this as an issue. I'd hate to see Cabelas modify construction to make it lighter - probably would compromise the strength and quality of this vest. To make my vest lighter, I plan to lose a half-pound from my mid-section! I agree with another reviewer that it would be nice to see some guidance on how to use all the pockets, straps, etc. The only issue I've had with my vest is that the zipper on the game bag will unzip through the course of the day - almost had some pheasants drop out while hunting. So, I have put a velcro strip on the back and on the zipper pull to keep it in place. Wish Cabelas would offer a jacket with removable sleeves based on the construction/pockets of this vest."

"I really enjoy the amount of pockets and storage this vest offers. It is very well built and a quality product. The only suggestion I would have for improving this product is to change/raise the location for the holder of the transmitter of the e-collar. It seems to be to low in the vest. I would also recommend having a lanyard attached to the transmitter. I have not experienced a transmitter falling out, but have seen it very close to falling out."

"I have been looking for a vest with lots of pocket, hydration system, transmitter holders, whistle tab, etc. It even has removable straps for your rain gear or coat. Some suggested a size larger than your normal size. This is correct if you plan to wear it most of the time over a jacket or heavy coat in the winter. The snaps are better on the shell pockets as the stay open and easy to get too. Inside zipper pocket great for gloves, etc and it has a cell phone inside pocket. What else can you ask for! Can get heavy when fully loaded, but if you need all that gear, don't complain!. Tabs on each side good for check cords during training.

"Very functional but it is sized small; order at least a size larger than your normal size. Also I am six foot and it is a bit shorter than I would like. Opening for hand warmer pockets is small and cargo pockets should have velco instead of snaps."

"While it hasn't seemed to have improved my shooting any, this vest is comfortable and has more pockets than a mutant kangaroo. It is just as comfortable as my previous vest, which I really liked because it had a neoprene neck. This vest is somewhat softer and I don't notice the lack of neoprene. Also love the slash handwarmer pockets.
I don't use an electronic collar on my dog, so the loops and things set up for this use are extraneous for me.
The vest is very well constructed and I believe it will last for many seasons of abuse.
I do have a few complaints about this vest. First is the need to purchase a hydration bladder separately. Secondly, there are very few shell loops provided. Because there are so dang many pockets in the thing, this is not a major issue--I just fill them up with shells. Third, and most annoying to me is that the two large main pockets close with snaps. They are very difficult to close with one hand, especially when gloved. My prevous vest had flaps with velcro and zippers underneath. This was a better system than one brass snap.
Overall, I like this vest, but wish Cabela's had other options for a hydration system vest."

"Wanted to get a full season in before reviewing this vest and my impression hasnt changed since the first time I put it on...this is a great vest. Plenty of pockets for all the gear, mine and the dog's and the ability to put a water reservoir in it is great, its really easy to over look something as simple as bringing water for the dog (and me).
About the only thing I wish would have been different is that the shell loops sewn into the front pockets could have been doubled, that is enough room for 20 shells (I seem to shoot more than most, I'll let you decide if that is beacuse I am a poor shot or great shot...er?) Anyway these pockets are deep enough to have two sets of loops inside, and I just hate stuff rattling around in the vest when I am in the field.
Other than my own OCD issues, this is a great vest and you wont be disappointed."

"Vest has plenty of pockets that make for plenty of storage. Hydration pack is nice as well. I used this vest for deer season this year and the straps on the back made it nice to attach and unused layer of clothing. "Being an avid upland bird hunter and the owner of two dogs, I purchased this vest with the anticaption your staff would put together a good product. Having used the vest for the first time in mid October, I have continued to refine how I'm utilizing all the different loops, fasteners and pockets. I think it would have been nice to have some guidelines as to what their intended functions might have been designed to do, this would have at least given me a starting point. One of the reasons for my purchase, was the hydration system, I never seem to be able to carry enough water for both the dogs and the hunter, this has solved that problem. I would however suggest making the two draw string pockets in the front of the game pouch, a little larger not only in diameter but height as well, allowing a store bought plastic water bottle to fit better. You also could supply reusable bottles with the purchase of the vest to solve this probelm. I had been concerned with the weight of the vest once I had the hydration system full, the two water bottles and ammunition all on board, but that hasn't been an issue. I would make the point, when all these items are full, it makes the vest pretty tight over the shoulders and can get a little sweaty during active hunts. Overall, this product has meet more of my needs than any other I have found in the past and at a very reasonable price."

"my first day out i put this vest to the test and im satisfied! lots of pockets! plenty of room for shells, birds, lunch, water for me and the dogs, the ecollar reciever fits nicely. the lanyard keeper did well, i used it to hold my mouth piece to the camel bak. i didnt get poked or scraped by any brush or briars. all in all awesome vest! thank you cabelas!!"
