Poor Performer,August 16, 2009
By Labman2344from Minnesota
"A disappointing purchase. The transmitter has a battery indicator with a 3 bar range and it stays on 3 bars until the battery is dead. It also has red and green LEDs to indicate the charging condition. With a dead battery the LED glows green like there is no problem. Sent the unit back to Dogtra thinking it had some other problem. By the time they were done I was charged about half what I paid for the collar and all they did was change a battery. On top of that they didn't return all the parts I sent them."

Not what it's Hyped up to be!,February 16, 2009
By Matchlesskennelsfrom Waterville MN
"I train a number of pointing dogs and have bought the Dogtra 3500 and Tritronics G3 two dog collar sets from Cabela's last summer. I love the Tritronics G3 and despise the Dogtra NCP3500.
While the Pager mode is a nice function and the main reason I purchased this collar, the batteries supplied with it are so inferior they will not last a full day even when I only have the collar turned on and not using it. This is not a fluke as both the collars in my two collar set will not make it thru a full day just turned on and sitting on the counter after an all night charge.
Meanwhile the Tritronics G3 will go for days without a charge. Take it from someone who owns both, buy the G3 and save some money and headache!!!
For those of you who may be thinking that the pager mode is more humane and will save your dog some stimulation, you'll find that the G3's buzzer warning will get your dogs attention just as well."

great unit,October 13, 2008

"The range is as advertised on flat ground, but diminishes in heavy brush or hilly terrain. Great low profile reciever and easy to use transmitter. handles water (even saltwater), sand, and dirt very well so far."

So far, so good!!!,April 30, 2008
By azwildcat96from Tucson, AZ
"I am new to dog training, and certianly new to the use of electronic collars, but I chose this product because it had a two dog model, it had a long range, it was rechargeable, and both the transmitter and the receivers were waterproof. I am also happy with the rheostat. I can fine tune and select the mildest setting that my dogs will respond to. The vibration feature is an added bonus. It really gets the pups attention without a jolt. The on/off switch for the receivers is brilliant, and the "pig-tail" charging cords makes it easy to charge all three units form one outlet. Too bad the car adapter is not included. The only thing I might change or add to this system is an audible tone or a beeper, so that it could be cross-used for upland or for waterfowl. I guess it it easy enough to just clip a bell to the collar when going after quail. I am very pleased with the products so far, and look forward to continuing to educate my labs with its' help."

This is a great one,April 15, 2008
By Labrunnerfrom Portage, Michigan
"This is the second Dogtra I have owned, and the only reason I purchased a new one is to have the up-dated technolgy and a smaller transmiter. My first Dogtra coller was a 2000 NCP and it is over 6 years old and still working great."

Outstanding product,January 17, 2008
By Kenrossfrom Wisconsin
"I have used other e-collars in the past. The Dogtra 3500 NCP Super-X surpassed my expectations. I am currently training a young senstive dog and with the mild setting and vibration mode. It as been an valuable tool to do the detailed finishing work. I have not tested it in the extreme cold yet, however I have had it in 15 degrees mid-west temperatures. There was no delay and worked fine. I don't see the use for 127 levels of stimulus, but sometimes diversity is not a bad thing. It allows one collar for any type of dog. From a young dog to the extreme of a strong dog. I strongly recommend this collar."

Dogtra 3500 NCP Super X,January 4, 2008
By Fourpawsfrom Washington
"I ordered the Dogtra 3500 NCP Super X at the recommendation of a friend ... I am completely satisfied with this system. I hunt upland birds and my dog immediately responded to the pager function for praise and approval, as well as, the nick function for correction. I have never needed to use the 12-second continuous correction function. This system performed well for me in wetland areas and also on two occasions when it rained while I was in the field. The recharge rate for the transmitter and receiver system is as fast or faster than advertised, and the charge supports a full day of hunting for me. This system comes with a black collar strap, but you can order an orange collar strap for quick visibility of your dog in tight cover, yet not need to page the dog. The instructions advise you that the transmitter operates best when away from your body ... this is true. However, the belt clip is so stiff that it is sometimes difficult for me to remove it from my belt in order to 'clearly' activate the transmitter. A lanyard is provided for the transmitter, though I prefer not to have the transmitter hanging from my neck. I solved this issue by adding a second "D"-ring on the upper panel of my hunting jacket and attached small pieces of hook and loop fasteners to the base of the transmitter and to the jacket to keep it from swinging when I bring up my shotgun. I wholly endorse this system for anyone contemplating the purchase of an e-collar system for hunting. A very minor complaint: I need a vehicle charger and it currently is a 3- to 5-week backorder item. Best of luck in the field and hunt safely!"

Dogtra Two Dog Collar,October 17, 2007
By MuddySurveyorfrom Grass Valley, CA
"I've had a Dogtra one dog collar for years and was extremely happy with the product. Most of my hunting is for Nevada Chuckars, but occasionally I hunt Pheasant. When Pheasant hunting I use both my dogs so I needed to upgrade. I just used the new collar in Nevada and was very pleased. They added some new improvements. One, is the clip on strap which can be worn around your neck or attached to a whisle neck line. On the old model, I had to drill a hole in the clip to add a strap. Second, the new electronic on/off swith is great. I thought the digital shock range was a little over done. Who needs a range from 0 to 127. Just give me 10 ranges! The main feature of the Dogtra collars is the pager button (vibration) which I use constantly. Once you buzz your dog once and she keeps going, give a shock. After one or two of these you will only use the buzzer. Also, the buzzer if a must on a pointing dog. If the birds are running and your dog keeps moving up on point, you can buzz her to hold till you get closer if needed."
