Looks great - but not warm,February 23, 2009
By skiplafrom Los Angeles
"Great looking gloves. High-quality craftsmanship, as with all Cabela-made products. But "extreme" is the wrong word for these gloves. I took them to the snow at Big Bear twice. They're good down to 30-degrees. After that, your fingertips get cold. Here's a suggestion for Cabelas: you guys should have a rating system for glove-warmth. Even one word, like "warmest" would do the trick. I could just buy whatever gloves you rate as warmest."

By svs48from Emden, Illinois
"I am pleased with the performance of these gloves. They have kept my fingers warm even with the cold temperatures that I have been exposed to this winter. The wind chills have been as low as -35 degrees at the construction site where I have been working this winter."

"These are really good gloves for the money. Use them on my motorcycle. Keep my hands from getting too cold when it's <30 F at 70 mph. Comparable to gloves that cost as much as $125.00"

Disappointed,February 14, 2009
By MTcoldhandsfrom Montana resident too close to North Dakota
"Another disappointing "cold weather product" purchase. Purchased these gloves based on the description; "Kodiak Extreme." Needed for shoveling snow, cutting firewood, walking the dog. They are good to about + 25 degrees F. At 20 degrees F and a 10 mph wind they are good for about 10 minutes."

Warm,January 31, 2009
By CaptSilverfrom Maryland (DC Suburbs)
"I found the gloves to be warm, and seem to be durable. I agree with some reviewers who found them to be too thick to do anything requiring fine motor skills, however. Maybe this will change over time with wear, but with the gloves still relatively new I find myself taking them off to handle many activities..."

Kodiak Extreme Gloves,January 26, 2009
By mrsprofrom Spokane, WA
"These are great gloves, very warm and good quality construction and materials. They run large, however, and the first pair I ordered in my husband's usual size were too big. I exchanged for the next size down and they're perfect. An excellent glove for cold winter plowing and shoveling!"

disappointment,January 24, 2009
By scackleyfrom Virginia
"I bought these for a trip I was taking to Alaska last winter (08); I live in Virginia, and I decided to wear them during one of their cold days just to check them out. Now mind you that the weather here was in the teens to low 20's.
Maybe 15-20 minutes of being outsideI noticed that my fingers were actually getting very cold. I thought it must have been a fluke; so on a different day I did it again; with the same results.
I have regular "dress winter gloves" and these cheap things keep me alot warmer than Kodiak extremes.
If anyone wants a pair of these gloves cheap; just let me know.
I am looking to sell them and buy some that actually work.
if I could rate them less than 1 of 5 I would."

Kodiak Extreme Gloves are great,January 9, 2009
By Snowblowerfrom Toronto, Canada
"I bought these gloves for general use in the Canadian winter - snow shovelling, walking etc. Because I am diabetic my circulation is poor and my hands get cold easily. With these gloves my hands stay toasty warm even after an hour of snowblowing on a windy 5F day. They also look very stylish for dress use."

Serious gloves,February 20, 2008
By Popatnicfrom Nicolet, Quebec, Canada
"These gloves arrived just as the local temp dipped to - 20 C (- 4 F), an ideal test base to drive the 15 miles to work. I had had cold fingers just about every morning this winter so far with my holdovers from past years. NO MORE: besides fitting like a glove, these are the best gloves for warmth and quality I have ever owned. The long, polar fleece lined, sleeves means I don't get cold wrists either. The only drawback is that with fully padded and warm fingers, you lose a bit of dexterity: the fader and balance controls on my car radio and sunk-in rocker switches of the power windows are too small to handle with the gloves on."
