"A couple of years ago I had taken my bear spray with us on our vacation to my brothers place in Montana. Talking to my brother one evening I told him that I had a can of bear spray that I had for probably five years at least, he said to me well why don't you try it out with a little blast to see if it still works. Well I was down in his basement my wife was up stairs. I had my hunting bag with me sitting there in the basement. There was the bear spay in eye shot, so a bright thought came to me saying self it shouldn't hurt to give that spay a try. I was still in the basement when I took the spay aim it to a spot where my brothers bow was sitting, thinking I don't think this can of spray will even work. Well one little touch of the trigger and whoosh the spay put out a blast that was so big that it hit my bothers bow which was probably 10 feet away that the spray covered the bow and some old pillows and a old blanket. Well I started coughing, gaging, sneezing, then I heard my wife who was up stiars start doing the same thing. We had to open ever door and try and get the smell out before brother came home. We did get the house aired out, I washed bros bow three times, and my wife washed the pillows and bankets three times. So I found out the spay is sooo powerful, it does and amazing job. Brother ask the question why didn't you try it out side, who would of thought of that. I'm amazed of the power of this product."

"I bought this product before taking a trip to Alaska, in which I would be doing a lot of hiking.
I found the information packet that came with it to be outstanding. Lots of good info on bears, what to do in many situations, and when to use the spray.
Thankfully, I did not have to use it, but I test fired it (as recommended in the info packet). The wind changed direction slightly and my wife and I got a whiff of this stuff. It is some nasty stuff--a good thing.
The holster that came with it is of high quality and is very comfortable to wear."

"UDAP #12 Bear Spray is just the ticket for stopping aggressive dogs in their tracks. While riding my bicycle, I've used it a few times on large & small dogs that were chasing me. I have a quick-draw mount using the included baggie. I ride around the same neighborhood most days, and have never had to spray the same dog more than once. Now when I pass by, they retreat and don't make a sound, just watch me. They don't like the stuff. They learn fast. I'm enjoying this product. Shoots out a considerable blast of pepper, so aiming is easy, not too critical."

"I bought the Jogger Pepper spray to carry every day during my daily walk. But while I was shopping for it I saw this Bear Spray with hip holster. I didn't know they made pepper spray to ward off bears! I was intrigued with that, so I bought it more out of curiosity than actual need.
Now that I have it, I must say that I'm impressed with it. It's not likely I'll run into a bear in my Central Florida neighborhood, although, that isn't much of a stretch because black bears frequent the Ocala National Forest which is only about ten miles away. But if I do I want to be carrying this stuff with me.
I read the label and compared it with the Jogger Pepper Spray I carry daily (there are some aggressive and nasty dogs in my neighborhood). This Bear stuff is WAY more powerful and can spray three times as far! While the Jogger Spray says it's effects aren't permanent and last for about 45 minutes, this Bear Spray says it can cause permanent blindness if I spray it in someone's eyes! That's the kind of power I want if I'm ever confronted by a bear."

"I am soon moving to a semi-wilderness area where there are many deer, cougars, and other wild animals. Also, being concerned for my own safety from the human variety (I am an older woman) I have talked to the police on two different occasions to find out what kind of self-defense is available other than carrying fire-arms. I was advised to get "Bear Spray" (which I'd never heard of). They referred me to a gun shop who referred me to Cabelas on-line. I'm pleased with the size/appearance of this product & with the potential of reaching much further than pepper spray. The safety latch is a most desirable feature. "I had captured a few pictures of a black bear and three cubs on my game camera and decided it might be a good idea to get some kind of repellant, just in case. IT fits on my belt perfect and is right were I need it if I need to act fast. I dont want to be forced to shoot a mama with cubs. I havent had to use it yet , thank God. "I feel allot more comfortable carrying this with me, as I don't carry a gun when I bow hunt. I haven't had to use it yet, but I tell you what, I am glad I have it.

"Maybe it's the largeness of the can of spray that makes me feel "secure" in bear country. I carry it on my person; on my belt...not in my backpack or jacket. It's always on my side, across from my handgun and knife. Only thing I didn't like was the elastic belt loop. I think it would be more secure if the belt loop was a heavier cordura material, or ballistic plastic type. The snap also seemed to come undone more often than I liked, especially when hiking through the brush. Just hope I never have to use it."
