"Another brilliant clothing choice for my trip to sub-zero (deg C) Poland. I wanted Merino mix in a neutral colour and Cabelas turned up trumps with these socks. They stayed warm and dry in spite of being worn all day, every day (over Smartwool inners and under insulated Rimrock boots) in temperatures between 0 and -18 deg C. The only time the sweat was noticeable was on the flight home!
Even so, after wearing the same pair for a week, there was no 'environmental pollution' 'cos that's how Merino works, I guess.
I have a size 12 foot and the appropriate size fitted well, possibly a bit tighter (they're very elastic) after careful washing and certainly easier on their own than over the Smartwool inners. They were never so tight as to interfere with my circulation, however.
They are thick, however, and I made sure I had boots a size wider than I would normally wear to allow for this."

"I ordered the Cabela's Primaloft/Merino Heavyweight Wool Socks when I wanted some socks even heavier than the Cabela's Deluxe Cold Weather Hunting Socks - and these heavyweight socks absolutely fit the ticket - they are thick, plush, warm, well-fitted, and yet they are not too bulky so they still fit well into boots and moc-shoes. I am now wearing these on a daily basis and find them to be simply great!"
