"I have recently purchased a set of these radios and I've gone through the manual 4 times, I'm sure I have it set up correctly and even on long range best I can get is 1.5 Klm's and that is on a fairly even terrain. also a Complicated set instructions to follow. I'm returning this set to see if it was just that set of radios. I don't recommend this product to anyone."

"I use a combination of Motorola, Midland and now Cobra FRS/GMRS radios. The Cobra's are by far the loudest. My Motorola headsets, boom mics and earbuds all work well with the Cobras. Cabela's has a massive selection of FRS / GMRS radio's as well as hard to find accessories. The headset jack on the top of the unit makes a big difference in its performance and just sits in a pocket better. My biggest challenge will be during ski season. I have had sporadic coverage with the Midlands and the Motorolas. Hope the Cobras can cut it ! I'll add more info later."

"We needed the ability to communicate at a 3-4 mile range among different members of the work force...lifeguards, gatehouse and roving manager. Cell phone coverage is weak to non-existant in this area, so portable and reliable communications for emergencies, etc. is vital. These radios do the job. Call ups worked first time every time and voice transmissions were clear even during windy days. Radios were ordered over the phone and the customer support was excellent."

"I'm 69 years young, two college grandsons, son and son-in-law, worked with these complicated walkies for four days. We have not been able to make them work. My 8 year old Motorals worked great yet. Will work with yet thru end of season, then may return them (will have to more college grandkids later in season. These are computer geeks and they can't make them work, noise, won't even copy 500 feet away, but can hear neighbors over a mile way clear as a bell. Big buck"

"I have been looking for a radio with some distance due to the area where I hunt which is very hilly. I thought I found them in these 26 milers from Cobra. NOT... not any better than my 12 miler Motorolas. Ease of use and options are very good.. Boom mic is too short and does not stay on your ear very good. Overall they are an average radio for the price."
