WOW - NO COLD TOES HERE!! MY TURN!!,October 21, 2009

"I alway had trouble with my toes being cold. I have tried several different Thinsulate boots only to have frozen toes after a very short time in the snow. I used by husband boots one day to go out to feed the livestock even thought they were 2 sized to big. He has had his 2 years and they are holding up great even with all the wear they get, he lives in them from November to April just about. He works in the elements. Just for the time I had his boots on boy were my feet cozy. I then ordered a pair for myself. I LOVED them. My toes stayed warm even in the below weather we get in the UP of Michigan. But by son who wears the same size stole them from me. I just wish the 2000 gram boots came in a smaller sizes for kids. My twin boys want them but the smallest size is a men's 8 which is way to big for a kids foot size 4! But that doesn't stop them from stealing the boots to wear outside themselves! WARM TOES if only I could get them from the kids!!"

"I hunt and fish in the northern reaches of WI, and have been looking for a warm pair of boots that didn't weigh 10 pounds per foot, and I found them in Cabela's 10" 2000 Gram boots.
The boots are stiff out of the box, but break in quickly after 1 or 2 days wear. They have great cushioning in the sole so it helps to eliminate sore feet, knees, and back. The size runs about a half size small, so if you normally wear an 11 order an 11.5 and you will have plenty of room for your toes.
These boots feel like you are wearing a light uninsulated pair of upland hunting boots and allow for great mobility. I regularly work outdoors from December through April and these boots keep my feet toasty warm even while I sit for extended periods in the cold WI winter. If you must move around periodically or don't like the extra weight of pack boots, these are for you. My feet did get a little warm after heavy activity periods, but that is because of the heavy thinsulate in them. Far and away the best 2000g boot I have ever encountered. I liked them so much I bought additional pairs for relatives for Christmas."

"ive only had these for a few days been wearing them around the house to loosen em up but they seem to be pretty high quality especially for the price cant wait to put em to the test this year elk deer and bear hunting im only 15 so my feet finally stopped growing thats why i had to get new boots this year but so far they seem as high quality as the red head boots ive used for 3 years ill write another e=review and tell how they worked out after hunting season they are a big boot i normally wear 11 but i had to get these in 12 because they run tight but they are light for how big they are"

"I received these as a Christmas gift and I planed on using them to stand hunt for deer. Unfortunately I never got the chance to try them out for that. However, I did use them on one small game hunt. I wore them all day in deep snow and very cold temps. Way to much boot for walking around like that right? Well, my feet didn’t suffer at all, which makes me nervous that they won’t keep my feet warm while standing. I’ll just have to wait till next season to find out. Very big and bulky boot that takes a great deal of time to break in. Mine are still stiff, but like I said they were comfortable the one time I wore them. Do not get a wide size if you don’t normally wear a wide and that is all that is available."

"I can not give an accurate review on how warm my feet will be during the next Fall/Winter hunting season, but I can say for the money that I spent on these hunting boots, they are an excellent bargain. I am sure that the 2000 Gram Thinsulate will keep my feet warmer than they have been in the past. I am used to hunting that requires 5-6 hours of straight sitting time and it can get pretty cold here in Central New York during hunting season. These boots are well made and are comfortable to wear, right from the box. They will require less break in time than other boots that I have purchased in the past."

"Well, it's a good thing I read the reviews about this and got these a size bigger, and in wide, compared to what I normally get...otherwise they definitely wouldn't have fit. Now that's it for the downside of these boots. I work at a feed mill in the upper peninsula of Michigan, so I end up carrying 100lb bags of grain in below-zero temperatures during winter. These boots have cushioning, thick and gripping tread, and as long as it stays 10 degrees or less, my feet feel fine (If it's like 20 degrees or warmer, and I get moving in these boots, my feet get too hot). So there you have it; if you need some good work boots in a cold area, I'd recommend these :)"
