"Even though the catalog description said it would fit any camera, it did not fit mine. The tripod mount was in the wrong spot and it was not big enough to fit my lens. It was frustrating to have the catalog say one thing and the truth be something different."

"I purchased the Cabela’s Large Digiscope Adapter two weeks ago and have been taking pictures with it ever since. I have been very pleased with the outcome. The only problems I have had with it are small and few and would be expected with any brand’s adapter. It took me a little while to get used to using it as it is large and slow to use. Obviously, you will not be able to work as quickly as if you were working just with the scope. If you are doing a lot of moving around the adapter will start to loosen. Easily fixed, just tighten the screw again. Use caution not to knock the adapter against anything during transportation, as it may damage the scope’s eyepiece.
As I mentioned before, I have been very pleased with it. And the only problems I have had are insignificant. I have had a lot of fun taking great photographs, and would highly recommend this product to others."

"just purchased this product and it seems to work pretty well. I practiced with it on the deck in my back yard. I took pics at both about 150yds and an unknown range at a clear cut at least 1/2 mile away on 45 power on a humid day. pics were a bit blurry and it takes a bit of practice to get everything workin right.I think some of the haziness was due to humidity. although I do recomend building a tube to put between your scope and camera. I tried a paper towel tube. it worked pretty well and made for much clearer pics. I plan to build one out of neoprene soon. hopefully cabela's will read this and maybe consider the modification.otherwise seems to be a well built product and would recomend it"

"The Digiscope Adapter is definately functional and allows me to use my camera to take nice pics using my Zeiss spotter as a super telephoto lens.
It has a couple drawbacks such as size and weight, but when you compare it to the Swarovski and Zeiss digiscope adapters, its a huge bargain. You do need a quality tripod as this adapter along with a camera does add significant weight to the rear of the spotter.
The quality of the pictures will be in line with the quality of your spot scope. A cheapo spotter will not give you pro quality. A good flouride lens spotter will give you good quality pics.
I am happy with this purchase."

"This is a well made product. I used it with a small minolta digital camera. When i tried to used it with my olympus compact ultra zoom camera, it did not work so well. I had trouble setting it up, but with the smaller camera it worked well. It is just a bit bulky to use. On my trip to the Badlands, I refrained from using it since it was easier to use my small video camera to get those extreme close ups of mountain goats. If you are not too worried about the bulk, then this item would suit well for you. It just does not fit all kinds of cameras."

"I ordered the large size for my digital slr. By the looks of the picture i wasnt sure if it was going to work for me. I got it and could not get my camera to sit on the base it wasnt big enough to hold my camera. The scope itself had a small eyepeice which also didnt work with my slr. The scope is wonderful and sees far but the scope was heavy on the tripod and i couldnt get the shake out of it even using my small pocket size digital camera. The "size" of the digi adapter is measured by the peice that opens up to attach to the spotting scope or whatever you're attaching it to. The platform that holds the camera is the same size on both sizes of the adapter, neither one of these adapters will work for me with the equipment i have. I have a high end scope and tripod and cameras i am disappointed they didnt work for me the idea was great. It may work for someone else with different equipment. I was going to try a second tripod to hold just the camera but decided not to with time and expense. I think the platform on the larger adapter should be adjustable to compensate for the larger cameras, a special single peice like an adjustable stick could be used to help with stablizing the shake I experienced."

"The digiscope adapter was a good idea, but when put into practice it fails significantly. Most quality spotting scopes are made to balance on a tri-pod. When adding all of the extra weight to one end of the digiscope adapter and a camera, this balance is thrown way off kilter. The weight distribution is no were close to being right, I took several unsteady, unfocused pictures. On the bright side, I was able to return this product with no hassle at all. Another reason why I love Cabela’s."

Adapter did not work with large or small cameras,

"Although the adapter gives a wide range of adjustment capablity, the camera support was not long enough to allow me to use my Canon S5iS. On my small Sharp camera the camera support was OK, but in neither case could I get the scope to provide an image that filled more that just the center of the frame. The adapter is not somelthing I can use and is dissapointing in that I realy wanted this thing to work."
