"The gortex only lasted about 2 wks. I walk all day for my job in and out of grass and the gortex did not hold up. Great for dew on the grass but not for really wet grass."

Hiker shoes review,

"I really liked the looks of the shoe and had read the reviews before purchasing. However, they did not work for me at all. I really do not know why. They hurt my feet all over and after wearing them around the house hoping to get them adjusted to my feet, they just hurt more and more. I could not wear them at all without pain. I do not know if it was an arch support thing or something else entirely. But, was very disappointed. Had looked forward to them working for me on a trip to Israel."

"These are the second pair of hikers I have purchased. As in the past, there was no breaking in period that I have found with other footwear. I work outside in all kinds of weather and my feet stay comfortable and dry all day."

"I walk (cross country) 3 to 4 miles every day with my dogs rain or shine. These shoes are holding up extremely well. My feet are always dry and comfortable. The shoes are wet quite a bit from rain, and morning dew and do not shrink. The treads seem to release the mud/grass/rocks well. I would highly recommend these hikers."

Loved the shoe, but not the fit,

"The shoes are good looking and well made. I usually have no problem ordering shoes; a 7 fits. However it was too short in this shoe. I exchanged for a 7.5, but still didnt fit right. Foot slid forward too much making these fit too short as well, depite the large gap at the back because they were too long. Must be the cut/design. It just didnt work for me.
Wish they would have fit!"

"Great quality at a great price. They keep my feet completely dry. I love these hikers/sneakers. I would recommend them for general everyday outdoor use. I haven't taken a good hike in them yet but I wouldn't hesitate to do so as they are comfortable, lightweight and have good traction."

"Very comfortable from the moment I put them on. I bought these to replace the Cabela's Backcountry hikers that I had bought before. Those bruised my ankles and were entirely too wide for my foot, no matter how many pairs of socks I put on."

"These are the best pair of shoes that I have had in a long time. I bought them at the retail store in Sidney Nebraska and was thinking that I wasn't sure about the tounge being gussetted, but my husband said that's part of keeping the moisture out from the inside. Well. I put that to the test, we had just had a big snow storm and the first time I wore them outside I stepped in a drift, my feet stayed dry and they even were still warm!! Way to go Cabela's!! I would recommend these to anyone who asks."
