fx 3 broad heads,
November 15, 2009
By CAF65
from Mt. Union Pa

"Just used this broadhead for the first time this year and made a bad shot on a buck, my fault. I hit him in the steaks broad side at 30 yds, the arrow broke off and after about 30 yds i could see blood running down his hind leg. Major blood trail from there, found him about 100 yds later. Someone else hit him almost same spot on other leg. FX 3 penetrated all the way to the inside if pelvis and actually had internal bleeding. Glad this broadhead performed to this level or probably he would have gang green in both hind legs and suffered."

great broadheads,

"I bought these broad heads last year after the season ended. About the 5th time i went out this year i shot a doe. I made a clean pass through and all the blades stayed on. She made it less than 40 yards and dropped. The reason that some peoples blades fell off is because they didn't have them screwed in tight. I had no problem with the blades except i clipped a little of the spine it wrinkled it a little bit but very fixable with a file. They are great if you are just smart enough to screw them in tight."

works for me,

"just started bowhunting this year and lets just say i didn't spend a ton of money on my set up. i'm a college student so 2X the number of broadheads for the money sure got my attention. i liked the design too when i checked them out. shot them to make sure they weren't all over the place and they were fine. no problems with loose blades or anything. so far i've gotten two deer and the broadheads have done just fine. yes they are a little bit nicked up afterwords but they're so cheap you can just change them out and sharpen up the old ones for backups. i just sharpened the used ones last night and they turned out great, almost as good as when i first got them. if you are having trouble getting them tight to the shaft grab a pair of pliers and use the pliers on the insert when you are tightening the broadheads down, works great. the only reason i gave them four stars is i have not hit any bone dead on yet and cannot say if they will hold up to hitting something solid. so if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg i would say these will do just fine for you too. if you have money to burn then go get some nice fancy ones."

No Problems,
September 26, 2009
By Buddy09

"I have been reading some of these reviews on the fx3 broadheads and i'm not sure what to think. I purchased these broadheads for the 08 bow huntin season. I shot them several times into my target and found that they flew the same as my field tips. Felt no need to repeatedly shoot them while practiceing so I went back to shooting my field tips. For the practice shots I made I had no problems at all with the blades or the tips. I took an 8 point buck and a doe from my treestand for the 08 season. On both shots the arrow passed clear through the deer with no problems with the blades or the tips. I think there great for the price and I plan to use them again this year. I hope everyone has a safe and exciteing 09 bow season. Good Luck To You All."

"ok i love cabelas i go there once a week i know all the guys in the archery department and i am new at bow hunting and everything but when i bought these i thought that they would be awsome with the wide blades. Although they are extremly sharp out of the box the blade break easy. You cant shoot at targets with them. And when i shot a racoon the arow went right through the vitals but it ran. I got my arow back and broke no blades that was the only good part about this. I followed the blood trail for 50 yrds and then lost it. Dont recomend but i do recomend the two or three blade rage broadheads"

FX3 Broadheads,
September 2, 2009
By MuttTheWalleyeHunter

"Although I hav'nt been able to use them on game yet (coming soon!!!), I am basing this review on what I've seen so far. They appear to be good quality, the blades fit snugly into the broadhead bodies. The ease of putting them together is a plus. They fly precisely from my crossbow @ 320 fps. They hit at exact point of aim as the fieldpoints. Pack of 6 for what others want for 3 makes them even more appealling. The jury is still out for now on how they perform on game, but we'll soon find out and I honestly believe they will perform satisfactorily."

Sharp and Accurate,
August 27, 2009
By Dolph92

"Pros: Shaves hair off my arm out of the box. Pretty accurate and Very cost effective
Cons: Cant sharpen. Have broken blades off on scapula (shoulder blade) and bent blades over on ribs.
I used these for a few years and still use them when I am shooting though a ground blind screen. They are very sharp out of the box and fly very well when shot out of a properly tuned bow. I have taken about a dozen whitetail with them over the years and have never lost a deer with these. I have had a few blades bent over or break off on impact but the critter was still dispatched just fine. I had one completely destroyed by impacting a Vertebra. The aluminum ferrel broke off right at the tip after impact releasing the blades but the deer dropped as the blades severed the spinal cord. for the price you cant go wrong really."

Never Again.,

"I would never buy these again. Thought they might be decent due to the Cabela's name but I was wrong.. My friend and I both Shot deer with these last year. In both situations there were clean shots. with any other broad head I feel as if they would have died almost immediatly.. but they didn't. Both deer turned into several hour tracking experiences. The reason.. The blades sheered off on Impact. Might as well have shot them with a field point.
I recommend spending about 8-10 bucks more on a pack of Muzzy's Much better quality.
Sorry Cabelas.. Please try again."

"Best Value on the market, Period! You really can't beat this deal. I get 6 broadheads for a low price, they're quality, they're razor sharp, and most importantly they get the job done. Or already got the job done I should say. If you 've seen any of my other reviews then you know that I'm a pretty tough critic, but these ones are awesome."

"Recently sighted in my wifes' Excalibur crossbow with the FX3 broadhead and the arrows that came with the crossbow pkg and was suprised beyond expectations with the results. Sighted in at 20 yds at a 1" spot on my Block target and hit it every shot out of 3. Moved target to 30 yds and hit same spot 3 out of 3 shots! Not even my Muzzy 100 grains came close to this accuracy!"

"Ive been hunting with these broad heads for the last couple years and never had any problems with them i have shot 2 deer with clean pass throughs and also shot turkeys no problems with blades coming apart and i use these also to shot the foam targets then turn around and use the same broad head and to hunt with. Also i never pull my arrow out of anything i always push it on trough the target or animal because broad heads are made to go forward not backwards no wonder why people break stuff."

Excellent Broadhead.,

"I recently purchased this broadhead as an alternative to more expensive 3 blade fixed broadheads for a hog hunt I was going on. After killing 2 hogs with pass through shots at 25 yards with the same broadhead I will be using them for my other hunting pursuits. Found that they flew true and had excellent penetration as well as durabilty. Only negative I could possible find with them was a little difficult to keep blades assembly together while screwing them on arrow shaft but once got the hang of seemed to get easier. Would strongly reccomend this product to freinds and others."

"I shot three deer with these broadheads this year. I watched two of them go down, the third ran over a hill, but not far. I also shot several into the ground(on accident). So far I've only replaced one set of blades and sharpened the rest. They have performed flawlessly and shoot like my field points."

"I've been using these broadheads for a while and had some that had the tip come off in practice but Cabelas replaced them. I took my first buck with one and it did a great job, penetrating completely through the whitetails liver and exiting out the other side for a clean kill."

Good broadhead,

"I started using these a couple years ago to replace my old mechanical broadheads. After a couple practice shots I was happy to see them hit the same as my field tips. This year I have taken 3 deer with these broadheads and they held up very well. The last deer the broadhead passed through a rib and shoulder blade and held up quite well. Overall I am very satisified with the product."
