2nd time is not a charm,

"This camera was out in the back yard for 5 days, stopped taking pictures after the 4th day. This is the second Moultrie I have owned the first one lasted approx 1.5 yrs. This one has made it five days. I will be sending it back for a refund, and will be buying another brand. They make easy to use cameras that will break after a very short period of time. I say shame on me on this one as I had this happen once checked on the internet and read that it is a very common problem yet still gave Moultrie the benefit of the doubt. Not this time."

good camera for the price,

"All in all this camera is good. The only thing that would be nice is the trigger time could be faster and would be nice if you could have a 6 volt battery option. The batteries only last about 2 weeks at -10 degrees celius. I find during the rut i only get the back end of some deer. I have 5 of these cameras and they take excellent pictures during the day and night as long as you set it up properly. This is the second year using these cameras and have not had any problems with them."

"While researching cameras, I wanted to buy one that was at least 5.0 megapixels, but also didnt want to pay excessive for something that I left in the woods and risk being damaged or stolen. I chose this camera and i'm glad I did. It was in my price range. It has performed exactly as I hoped it would. I have captured pictures of everything including Fox, Coyote, Weasel, Deer and even a Bear. I put an SD card in and it will hold up to 1500 pictures. I prefer just to bring the camera to the house and hook it directly to my big screen TV to view. There may be more expensive and better cameras on the market, but for what I use this for, it works perfect."

Great camera for the money,

"I've had this camera for a month, it take decent pictues of deer, racoons, rabbits,squirrels and Turkey's. I wasn't able to hunt the first 3 days of bow deer season and on the 3 shot setting it took over 400 pictures in these 3 days in daylight and darkness. The pictures are good enough to identify in some detail anything that's upto 50 feet away, after that it gets a little grainy. If you what to see what's near your blind and when its there, this camera gets the job done for the money. I have over 750 total pictures and 2 videos and the batteries are still at 65% after one month."

Three Strikes and Out,

"I would not reccomend this for any serious hunter. My lease is an hour + away and in the past 6 months I have had my camera in the field for about a total of 4 weeks. The rest of the time I have had to send it back because it flat out quits on me. In other words it dies. Absolutely nothing works. Even with fresh batteries put in no response. Moultrie will not give me an explanation about why, they just send me a new camera and when it goes bad I have to pay to send it back to them so they can send me a new one.
I expect it is the over 100 degree heat for over three days in a row the camera can't take it. I even have a solar panel attached to it and it won't keep up. I'm looking for a new different manufacturer now."

"Camera did not work right out of package. Allowed you to run through the set up mode, but would not activate LCD screen in auto mode. Cannot get through on Moultries' customer service line and no response to email. Neighbor has Moultrie and also dissatisfied with customer service regarding camera problems. I also have an older Moultrie that lasted only 2 seasons which translates into about 4 months of activity. It says you can't return to the retailer? Guess its time to find a different brand. With todays' economy you would think customer service would be a priority."

"me and my friend just recently purchased this trail camera, it took over 240 pics in just 4 days! the picture quality was great, it took good ones day and night , i think this is probably the best buy for the money, i probably wouldnt go any cheaper then this trail cam. but overall it is awesome!"

"Have 3 of these cameras in the woods year round! Had 4, but somebody seen it and needed it more then me I guess (on my own property, some people are real neat ya know). Anyway, have one camera that has logged over 5000 pictures, day and mostly night! Image is great and batteries seem to last weeks. Highly recommended."

"battary life very poor.6 battarys to run camera and only last 2 1/2 weeks. pictures at daylight ,dusk and night very grainy for a 5 megapixel camera.better invest in rechargeable battarys if you buy this camera"

"I have had this camera in use for about a month. The picture quality is great! I do seem to get a fair amount of pics with no critters in them but have to think that a real small animal / bird could be activating the camera. I have gotten a few picks were I could see a small rabbit, and a hawk standing on the ground. I will probably get another one of these cameras. REAL NICE ITEM FOR THE $$$$$$$!!!!!"

"I just received the set up and tried it in the yard. I put it in the still mode with 3 shots. I got a lot of notihng in the frame shots and 1/2 cats or in the corner shots. Seems to be to slow but will try it again tonight."

"I use a 4.0 and a 5.0 where I hunt. I find that these Moultrine are a bit slow to react to game. Unless your game is sitting still waiting for the picture to be taken. You might have missed the shot. I find putting these on video mode to get a clearing picture on whats in the area. It seems to kick off video mode before picture mode ever thinks about taking a picture."

"Good, easy to use camera. I initially purchased the 4.0 with the flash. It was defective. I traded in and upgraded to the 5.0 with IR flash. Its taken some awesome elk pictures. It is sensitive to blowing grass so I also have some great landscape photos as well. Just had to set it above grass level. Use the laser sight in to do this; easy! I have relatively fat, short fingers and had zero problem getting the sd card out. Quit looking at spending twice this amount and get this one. You'll like it!"
