bag to store. When returning to hunt, wipe fresh scent on sponges. Leftover product should be vacuum-sealed to
preserve freshness at the end of the year.

Buck stopped on a dime,November 16, 2009

"11/15/09: I hung a stand at a corner of a wood looking at a thorn apple hill. There is a thick red brush field beyond a narrow opening. I used Border Crossing Scent to make a scent trail on a deer trail that slashed down the hill toward my stand.
I heard something coming though the thorn apples headed for the red brush. I saw a doe moving toward the red brush. She slowed down, then crossed the gap. I saw a big buck on her tail. He was right after her but when he hit my scent trail, he stopped on a dime, turned and came into my set up. I hit him at 15 yards. Tall tined 7 pointer, big body, 200 pound deer. A big buck for Western New York.
The buck quit on a hot live doe to get on this scent. The product was recommended by a client from Michigan and here is a big shout out of thanks to Roy for his great advice."

"The deer herd stick is absolutely amazing! I put it right on my decoys and have had multiple deer come right up to it, lick the decoy and just mill around for close to an hour. It seems to do a great job of holding the deer in the area too. I have also used the deer stick by putting it on my gloves so that it leaves some of the scent on my ladder or climbing stand. It just seems to calm the deer and that just gives me live decoys in the area. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference between this and a fresh deer hide. You won't be disappointed. If rating just this product, I would give it an easy "5". The VS1 product I have had less success with. I can't say that I have had any better luck using it as if I just put out my decoy with the deer herd stick. I did decide to give this another try and I also purchased the rutting buck stick as well. I'll post again after this season. Maybe I will be as impressed with the combination as I am with just the herd stick."

"I went on a weekend hunt in banaster texas rubed some of the hurd in a stick on my boots along with trees surounding my climer. within 1 hr i spoted 2 doe 30 mins later another. right after the last doe i spoted an 18 in 8 point which i took. ive been out there befor using code blue and dident see a single deer te whole time. I have my friends hooked on it now!"

"I just got home from a week long hunt in the Allegheny Mountains in Pennsylvania. I got up to the camp on Wednesday and set up on a ridge near some rubs. This was an area that I never scouted this year. I put the VS-1 out on Tinks scent wicks in front and behind my stand. With in an hour I had a nice 7 point standing 10 yards to my right. He unfortunately didn't come into a shooting lane but he was definately interested in what he was smelling. On Friday I was out, again in a different area I never scouted and put the wicks out. With in 10 minutes an 8 point came, directly down wind with his nose in the air. I didn't give him a chance to get to the wick. He was harvested, and was my first archery buck. On both hunts, I put the deer herd cover up on the soles of my boots. It seemed to work well. The other hunters in the camp didn't have VS-1 and didn't see any bucks. I wonder if this was a coincidence or just the VS-1. Buy some an decide for yourself."

"Yep, it has a great cover smell. But honestly, I'm so tired of the stuff falling out of the can that I'm done using it. As far as I'm concerned the "ease of use/cleanliness" just isn't there, and if don't have that I'll go back to the tried and true dip scents."

"User for the first time this year our bow season started October 1. Seem to work well so I want to think. Had three bucks come in under my tree stand with their noses in the air trying to smell the coverups scent that was put on the trees leading to my stand. Shot a 11 PT , which was the biggest out of the three. Cannot wait for the rut to kick in and use the doe in estrus stick"

"I have used the VS-1 in a stick for a couple of years now and am very satisfied. It is very easy to use, not as messy as the liquids and the bucks really seem to be very attracted to it, moreso than some of the other leading brands of "doe in heat" scents. I haven't used the "deer herd in a stick" yet but will try it this fall. Buying the combo is definitly the most cost effective way to purchase Border Crossing Scents. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the cost, it is still overpriced."
