Hunter Safety System Lineman's Belt,
November 9, 2009
By whocan

"This linemans belt makes putting up a tree stand easy as you can use both hands to work and not be hanging onto a tree with one. I also used it when i was tree trimming at home. Both hands free is safer than one when in the trees."

"no more hanging off the stick ladder attaching a stand 20 ft in the air one handed. Now I have the ability to set stands much faster, quieter and 100% safer now that I have the linemans belt."

"While the belt is useful I didn't consider the limbs being in the way on the way up. Unhooking from the tree to pass limbs wasn't a great problem but leaves some thought on how to do things differently. This particular belt is coming unraveled with just two uses."

HSS Lineman's Belt a great purchase,
September 22, 2008
By Brasebear
from Fairbanks, AK

"I have been using this system for 2 weeks now moose hunting in AK, in stands up to 40 feet. My previous harness system was a Gorilla one (basic one that comes with all their stands) and while very secure, was frustrating to use due to the goofy metal slide buckles, straining to twist to get them to lock into place, and the elastic "safety" band to keep it in place. I picked up a HSS vest at a local store (HSS-6 Pro - another EXCELLENT PRODUCT) and found they offered the lineman's belt. Can't say enough how much easier this HSS + lineman's belt system is that my other one. Fast, comfortable, long enough belt to reach around 300 year old white spruce trees, and very secure. Good products, will be getting a rig for wife and kids for next season as well."

Hunter Saftey Linesman Belt,
September 8, 2008
By Gaspipe
from Mass
|
"Obviously a great idea. I do not like lack of ability to get the extra length of cord that dangles all over (after the adjustment is made to fit around the tree diameter) out of your way: this a danger in and of itself. Also the clips that attach the belt to the vest are almost impossible to release with one hand. Better than nothing but it needs some design improvements."

HSS Lineman's Belt,

By gabe2

"I bought this belt to go with my other full body harness. It is well made and seems to do the trick. I have not put it into use as it is the summer, but it came with and extra tree connecting strap and two nice locking clips. I think it is a must to go with any Harness. I have only owned it for a short while and that is why it is a 4 star."

"I have yet to wear this in the field, which is why I rated it at a 4, because i have yet to be in a tree stand with it. That being said I have worn it, and I have put in with ease. I have not worn a harness in the past becuase they are very combersome, I love the way this one works, and its reversable to what more can you want."

Lineman's belt rope defective,
January 8, 2008
By jeg920
from Central Arkansas

"I was excited about this product, the HSS lineman's belt. I bought to assist with putting up Ameristep Rapid Rails and some other ladder type stands I use.
All the components of the package looked like a perfect combination. A couple of good D clamps and the rope. Unfortunately the rope qucikly began to unwravel. In multiple places the interior "filler" of the rope that gives it it's heft began to squeeze through the outer weave of the green/black exterior covering. Sort of like when a carpet begins to "pill" and pile up. At first I tried to overlook it but it was coming out in several areas and I was uncomfortable using the product for fear of failure. This basically looked like a manufacuring quality issue where the outer weave on the rope was too loose, allowing the interior to work its way out. I returned the product to Cabelas and got credit without any problems.
I still use several HSS products including their Treestand Lifeline, which I highly recomend, and incedentally looks to be made from the same type of rope I had problems with on the Lineman's belt."
